So what Hotels on the Monorail have the best Quick Service restaurant? What is your favorite meal from that restaurant?

I thought it might be nice to take a break from the parks and take a spin on the monorail and stop at a hotel for a bite in on the way to or from Epcot/MK.

I like Captain Cook's, but I also love Gasparilla Grill at the Grand Floridian. I don't have a favorite meal.

I saw they had 16" Pizza for 13.99 does anyone know if this included in QSDP that seems expensive to be included?

If so is it any good? I am not to fond of Pizza Planet pizza which is the only other pizza I have had on property.

I will second Captain Cooks!

The adult grilled cheese is to die for. Here is my pic from my last trip :

I've never had the pizza, and I don't know, sorry. My inclination is to say it might not be that good, as Disney pizza tends to go, but not sure. I do like the pizza at Via Napoli (World Showcase) if you're looking for good pizza, but not a Quick Service option.

Another vote for Captain's at the Poly.

The large Pizza costs two QS meals. It's ok - nothing to die for, but if you're looking to save credits, we fed the family (2 adults 3kids) on that and a couple of snacks.

What a great idea! I've never thought of just heading onto the monorail for a bite for lunch. We don't care all that much for many of the quick service offerings in the parks (except for Sunshine Seasons at Epcot), so I think a lazy trip to Captain Cooks sounds like a fantastic idea! Thanks for this thought!

Have eaten at them all and they are all good. Will give an overall best vote to the Contempo Cafe at the CR. My youngest however stands by Roaring Fork at WL. Usually make my way over to Captain's Cook at The Poly each trip as well.

We have done this on a couple occassions!! One time we took the monorail from the MK to the Contemporary, and ate at the Contempo Cafe, I thought this was great for CS food, they had many offerings!! Then another day we decided to take the monorail and go to the Polynesian for lunch. Captain Cooks has the best sandwiches, and they are very different from the the options in the other restaurants around WDW. Both were very good, but if I were to pick one favorite it would definately be Captain Cooks!!!

While I understand your idea I would remind you that going from , for example, Splash Mountain to any restaurant at one of the monorail resorts is a journey including getting to the entrance of the MK out, eat and back through ticketing and bag check.

True... but it's a nice journey.

It is indeed. When our server at 'OHana asked us "Does anyone know what 'OHana means?" my then 3YO GS happily answered, "Monorail!" (that was back when servers at 'OHana conversed with guests)

I am aware of the travel invovled, but my idea was we could goto MK in the morning leave for lunch at one of the monorail resorts, then from there goto Epcot via monorail. I am sure eating 18 quick service meals in the park will get old so I was looking for a change of pace/food.

thanks for everyones responses and suggestions... in looks like Contempo Cafe and Captain Cooks wins out we will more than likely try both!
