Can't wait! Was done with AI a few seasons ago, and always really liked the Simon/Paula dynamic. Excited to see folks out of the 16-29 demographic as well.

Who else is going to watch?

I still enjoy American Idol, but I'm looking forward to The X Factor. It will be nice to have a singing show in both the fall and the winter/spring.

Watching right now! Gotta say it is nice to see someone as esteemed as L.A. give Simon a run for his money! Love this so far!

Gaaaaaaah! I thought it premiered tonight and missed it. Will try to find it online this afternoon.

The switch from Cheryl to Nicole was abrupt. I had followed it in the press so I knew it was coming but still... I didn't have a hard time understanding Cheryl which was supposedly one of the reasons for the switch. At any rate, just like American Idol, SO MANY COMMERCIALS and not enough singing! However, I watched it on DVR so I was able to fast forward those commercials and overall I do like it thus far. LA Reid is shaping up to be a great foil to Simon.

I thought it was a refreshing change from AI, as far as the age range of the competitors and their reactions being less canned. At first I thought they were trying to re-create the original AI judging panel, because LA Reid looks so much like Randy sitting at the table there. But his persona is completely different (thank goodness, nary a "yo dawg").

I'm going to keep watching, at least for now.

I was actually a little disappointed with it. I thought it was too similar to American Idol and it just seemed to be lacking something, though I'm not sure what. Maybe the actual competition part of the show will be better. I'm planning on sticking with with it for a few more weeks. I haven't watched tonight's episode yet.

I adore Simon and have really enjoyed the first two episodes. I DVR it so I do not have to watch the fluff or commercials.

I watched for about 10 minutes last night and to be honest I thought it was pretty boring. I think AI is still much better, way more positive with the new judges. The first few "singers" last night were so bad and the judges seemed pretty cruel.

I think that the X-factor lacks its own namesake...

Long Live AI!

Who's still watching? I'm crushed just now watching LA let go of Brennin. I thought he had the X factor for sure. :(

Not happy with him choosing Brian Bradley. Yuck. Must be my age, but he comes off wrong to me.

I like Drew and glad she made it through. Ditto for Josh.

I was so sad when it came down to Melanie and Rachel ... but it all worked out!

Has anyone seen the stuff that has come out about Stacy Francis? Ugh.
I am watching, my favorite is probably Stereo Hogz so far.

LOVE this show! I think it trumps AI any day of the week. AI is getting boring.

We love tuning in every week. Drew is sooo talented and so is Rachel and Melanie. Also love some of the guys.

I am so partial to this show - I went to see the NJ auditions back in June (even though they cut out practically the entire show when it aired -is another story).

I really think that I love criticism because that IMO is where AI was lacking. Everyone was playing nice and did not want to hurt anyone's feelings.
People have to have tough skin to succeed in the entertainment business and if they can take critics like LA Reid and Simon Cowell nothing anyone tells them should be tough to handle.

I am sooo rooting for Melanie, Drew, Josh and Lakoda Rayne

I am so bored with this show now. I still DVR but I fastforward through a lot. I think Nicole is annoying, and an awful mentor. And I just don't think the talent level is truly there. The production is way too over the top, so much going on with the video screens, fire, confetti, backup dancers etc. I like Melanie the best I guess, but I don't think any of these guys are gonna be huge stars. Who knows, though.

I am really enjoying XFactor, but do say that I fast forward through much. Have to agree that the production numbers are way over the top. I would like to just hear the contestants sing.
Just finished watching this weeks elimination. Wish that Astro had been sent home as I haven't liked his attitude since day one. Guess it doesn't help that I don't like RAP either.
I am hoping that Melanie wins. She is phenomenal. :number1:

I have really soured on this show, and won't be watching anymore. I do read a blog that covers it so I might watch a few performances here and there but last night did it for me. An age limit of 12 is way too young for a competition like this. Seeing 13 year old Rachel Crow breakdown like that, falling to the stage and crying hysterically into her mother's arms, made ME cry!
There's nothing fun or exciting about these types of eliminations, especially when the judges are cowards like Nicole was last night and send it to "deadlock."

That was ridiculous. She is being paid very well to judge. Then judge. :nono:

Looks like her crying days may be over. I read on an entertainment site that Disney has already contacted her. Looks like she will be meeting with The Disney Channel people very soon.

Exactly. The histrionics from her were too much!

No doubt, I knew she'd get scooped up by somebody as she as an adorable young girl with talent. But, at that moment in time, I'm sure it seemed like the world was ending, and I just don't think it's right for that kind of thing to be considered "Entertainment." Why didn't the cameras cut away sooner? Again, I just personally feel the age limit is way too low. I teach children of her age group and to have that kind of pressure/expectation on you at such an age is ridiculous. Just look at the number of child stars who turn to drugs/alcohol etc.

Paula pulled the same drama at the very beginning, but I was more sympathetic to that because she was having to pick between two of her own groups. The Nicole thing was just horrible and made me so angry --- she's being paid to be a judge.
