Sept. 15, 1967 – LIFE magazine published an article about Disneyland’s new attraction “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Sept. 15, 1981 – The Disney/Paramount musical fantasy “Popeye” was released.
Sept. 15, 1983 – A special fountain was presented to Tokyo Disneyland by Walt Disney Productions. “Cinderella’s Fountain” is in commemoration of the parks 5 –millionth guest.
Sept. 15, 1984 – The attraction “American Journeys” opened in Tomorrowland at WDW. (Closed Jan. 9, 1994)
Sept. 15, 1986 – “The Character Shop” opened in Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
Sept. 15, 1989 - The film, American Journeys opened at the Magic Kingdom.
Sept. 15, 1990 – Disney received Emmy Awards for the following programs and individuals: George Burns (Individual Achievement – Informational Programming/Performance, (A Conversation with George Burns)), Swoosie Kurtz (Guest Actress in a Comedy Series (Carol & Company), Pat Field (Costume Design – Variety or Music Program (Mother Goose Rock’N’Rhyme)), NBC, Producers Ted Field, Robert W. Cort, Patricia Clifford, Kate Wright, Richard L. O’Connor, Chet Walker (Children’s Program (A Mother’s Courage: The Mary Thomas Story)).
Sept. 15, 1991 – The Disney TV series “Pacific Station” aired on NBC-TV. (Ended Jan. 3, 1992)
Sept. 15, 1995 - Disney’s Syndicated Television Talk Show “The Stephanie Miller Show” began airing. (Last show aired Jan. 20, 1996)
Sept. 15, 1995 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “Unstrung Heroes” had its initial release. (General release was Sept. 22, 1995)
