Recommendations for a Romantic Dinner

My wife and I are going to Disney for a getaway weekend during F&W. We've been down several times over the last five years, most of the time w/ the kids, and always planned by her. This time I want to pick the place and provide a nice surprise for her. We've been to a bunch of places, but I'm looking for recommendations on a table for two :wine:

Romance at the restaurants is hard to find. A picnic on one of the Bay Lake beaches would be my personal pick. But, I am divorced and you shouldn't take my advice.:secret:

Even though I was by myself, I went to Les Chefs de France last September, and I remember noticing how romantic it seemed. I'm sure you can request a romantic table, when making your reservation.

Artist Point, Jiko or Narcoossee's are all wonderful...Narcoossee's especially if you can time it during the Electric Water Parade or Wishes.

We loved Narcoossee's (even though we had the kids with us) and Le Chefs could be romantic, especially if you can get a table that's a bit secluded. I haven't been to Artist Point but I certainly want to go. The Wave could be another option - it was pretty quiet when we were there in July.

My favorite romantic restaurants:

Victoria and Albert's and Bistro de Paris (pricey, but the most romantic on property)

Slightly down from those two:
Most of the Signature dining, fewer kids, finer dining- California Grill is noisy, but nice. Citricos is an underrated gem- with some fireworks views (but not many). Narcoossee's is also good, but I like Flying Fish and Jiko too. Artist Point and Yachtsman Steakhouse might also fit your needs.

And romance in less pricey places: San Angel Inn can be crowded, but romantic inside. Kouzzina, Sanaa, Grand Floridian Cafe are all quieter, with adult as well as family appeal.

Also consider, Shula's and Bluezoo at the Dolphin slightly off the beaten path but very good.

For a nice adult meal, I'd recommend either:

Bistro de Paris

or

Bluezoo at the Dolphin.

Both are phenomenal places!

Another vote for Bistro. It's not cheap but the food and service are fantastic. It is also great if you can get a window table and still be there for Illuminations. Walking out after the park is closed is pretty romantic too.

My husband set up a private dinner on one of the balcony's at the Grand Floridian (you don't have to be staying there) and it was wonderful, we were able to watch the fire works and they had rose petals all over the place.

Just call and ask for private dining, they do things all over the place, you can even have it on a boat while watching the fireworks. They set up a personal menu for you and everything. I highly recommend it.

I would agree with Chefs de Paris ,but would like to add the California Grill as well ( ask for the wine room ) we got put in their not knowing and it was lovely :thumbsup:

If you are willing to spend the money, Victoria and Alberts is by far the most romantic restaurant on property. We have been to most of the places suggested so far but none other than Victoria and Alberts has a harp, such a small dining room, such personal service and offers a rose to the lady at the en dof the night :mickey:

And oh man, never mind the food. It was the best meal of my entire life. We went for our honeymoon looking for romance and plan to revisit it on several anniversaries (as soon as we can afford it again)!

the DW and I just returned from an adults only trip and had several wonderful meals together. Now we didn't have expensive restaurants (all 1 TS on the DDP) but they had decent romantic atmosphere. A window seat at les chefs de france, the GF cafe, and a window seat at wolfgang puck cafe overlooking the lake at DTD all provided wonderful atmosphere. We found that the tables at Kona cafe were too close together for our liking, and don't get me started on San Angel Inn Restaurante, worst meal ever, EVER. now I'm not saying our choices would compare to cali grill, narcossee's or Victoria and albert, but for a decent price it provided just what we were looking for. have fun!

Bistro de Paris, not to be confused with Chefs de France (which is also lovely, but not nearly as lovely as Bistro). The Wine Room at California Grill is quiet and a little more elegant, like a little nook within the restaurant. You won't get a tableside fireworks view there. You might catch some of the Illuminations or Fantasmic fireworks in the distance. For fireworks viewing there, you would have to go the observation deck, which we prefer for viewing anyway.

I don't think you can beat France for romance. The best option would be Bistro de Paris. It's nice and private and quiet. The food and service are excellent. Chefs de France is always nice too (just not quite as romantic, IMO). To add to the romance, you could head over to perfume shops after dinner and get her a unique frangrance. I believe it's the Givenchy shop - they have perfumes there that cannot be purchased anywhere else. So your wife could have something that no one else she knows would have (unless they've also been to the Givenchy shop in WDW).

I can't remember what it cost, but the private dinner can be tailored to any budget, it really was not as expensive as you might think. I think it is really just the cost of the food and a service fee. It really was very special, I'll never forget it.
