Pre-Purchasing Gifts Online

I was just looking at the Gifts & Amenities page on the DCL site and wondered if:


For the Gift type items, are the items being offered not available in any of the onboard gift shops? Is pre-order the only way to get them? If not, can I assume that there is an upcharge here?
For the pre-paid photo credits, if you pre-purchase them are you getting actually saving any money versus paying for them onboard?

We ordered prepaid items before we cruised th Dream in march. We got the ship model. We were SO glad we did bc they didn't have them in the shop (they were out) and we were the envy of all when we showed up at the captain's signing with it! I LOVE my model!
