buying resale points to add to current contract?

I seem to remember reading once that if you buy resale points at the same resort and for the same use-year as your current contract, those resale points would just be added to your existing contract, regardless of who it was originally purchased from, and not be considered separate. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks!

I just spoke to member service, as I am waiting for my resale BCV points to be added...no, it's not the same resort, but it is the same use year, and the same people on the deed.

I was told they will be added to my current member number...time will tell...deed was signed and recorded onmthe 17th, but the points weren't in as of this morning.

All good, no 2010 points, and we have a December use year.

We purchased our add on points dierctly from Disney. Same use year, different home resort, all added to our original member number. I think this is the same even if your add-on is a resale.
