Hi All,

If we booked a package but didnt want the package for the three nights prior, can we add extra days to the park tickets in the package and use them before the scheduled arrival of the package? We are thinking about adding three days before the dates of a package that requires we purchase tickets but do not want to buy 2 tickets because of the cost for the first few days on the ticket. (the add on days are so much cheaper!!) Also, the prior dates are not part of the discount.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you,
Brian

Nope, you get your package tickets when you check in for your package stay. Not a day, or two, or three before...

EDIT: This might be worng, continue reading...

Yes, you can pick up your tickets up to three days early.Just go to any guest relations window and ask to do early ticket pickup, make sure you have your package confirmation number. They will give you just the tickets and tickets will not be added to your key to the world card when your package starts, but it was no problem using them separately. We used the guest relations at DTD.

This is the first I've heard of this, can anyone else confirm? You learn something new every day it seems...

I see conflicting info, and one post from a Guest Communications email that states:

While the information is not “wrong” as such, our official policy states that tickets that are part of WDTC package cannot begin before the guests check-in at their resort under the package. However, to ensure guest satisfaction when there are extenuating circumstances we do have processes in place that allows guests to pick up their tickets a day or two early. It is not intended as a way to get around our package policies or special offer start dates.
Looks lke you can take your chances and hope for the best...

Yes, ortechie is 100% correct. The following info is from a cast member who works at a ticket booth ... that is, someone who actually performs this task, of helping someone get their park tickets up to 3 days before resort check-in.

You can go to Guest Relations at any of the 4 theme parks or Downtown Disney (can't do it at a resort or at a water park). Request "Early Ticket Pick-up" ... use those words. The cast member will need your reservation number. The cast member has to actually get on the telephone to call the resort to gather more information. [There are some CMs who won't want to bother and will tell you it can't be done, and there are some CMs who don't know it can be done. For those who think it can't be done, you can tell them to go to The Hub (an internal website for CMs) and go through the following categories/tabs: WDW ... Work ... Ticketing ... Processes & Business Rules ... Early Ticket Pickup for Resort Packages]

The tickets will be for your entire stay; it's not like you'll only get the portion of the ticket you'd use before checking-in to your Disney resort. And it's pretty likely that even after you check-in at your resort that they WON'T be able to place those tickets onto your Key To The World card.

You can't under any circumstances get early access to Disney Dining Plan credits (if you booked the DDP).

Can you then add days on to these tickets, since you have used some of the days when you check in?

You have 14 days from first use to upgrade, and I would bet that doesn't change. Remember though, you can't go over 10 days total.

Rox is correct. There is nothing different about those tickets from tickets you get when you check-in to your resort. Getting them early doesn't strip you of any rights or privileges.
