June 2011 Trip (Saturday June 4)

Today we spent the day at Animal Kingdom.Is it just me or does it seem like this is the hottest park of all of them? Thought we would cool off at Kali River Rapids but it wasn't working.The lines weren't bad at all.We ate lunch at Piazzafari.A first for us.It was good and we were in an air conditioned building.lol By the end of the day we had seen and did pretty much everything.We heard Kali River Rapids was up and running so we wanted to do that before leaving the park.We did it after waiting 70 minutes in line.Getting wet was so worth it.Tonight we ate at Cape May at the Beach Club Resort.It was good but they didn't have the big variety they had the last time we ate there.

It's not just you - AK really does carry the heat & humidity differently than the other parks. We usually have to bail by 2 or 3 pm, even if we've gotten soaked on Kali River Rapids, because it drains us so much there.

I wonder if Cape May was just having an off night in the kitchen, or if they've scaled back their buffet?

Your not alone in thinking AK is the hottest park. My DBL believes it is the hottest place on earth!!LOL!

Another vote for a very hot AK! They bult this place like it was a desert.

A lot of folks say AK is the hottest park, but I can't imagine why it would be, other than all of the attractions are too spread out and you work up a sweat getting from one to the other?

70 mintes for Kali? Now I know you're patient!

It certainly is hot at animal kingdom. A cast member once told me the high heat is because the park was actually built in a big whole. I'm not sure if this is true. Has anyone else been told this?

AK is definitely the hottest park! I know it's the largest park (thus more walking), but there's just something "special" about AK that makes it extra warm...:whew:
