Has anyone been to WDW with a service dog? What are the things we should know? Are they allowed into Animal Kingdom Park/Resort?

I have never travelled with a service animal, but according to Disney's website, service animals are welcome at all of the parks and resorts.

SERVICE ANIMALS
Trained service animals (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guests-with-disabilities/service-animals/) are welcome in most locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort; however, all service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times and, please note, Cast Members are not permitted to handle service animals.

If you want extra reassurance, perhaps you could call Guests with Disabilities General Information directly at (407) 824-4321.

I believe that service dogs are allowed anywhere, it must be clear they are service dogs however. I know all the service dogs I've seen have special harnesses that has patches that identify them as service dogs.

Service dogs are allowed, even on transportation; we saw several on our trip last week, one on the monorail.
