Has anyone ever done the wine tasting @ Jiko? It's the one held on Wednesdays @ 3pm. We are going to try it in July and wondered if anyone has tried this and their opinoin on it.

We did do the wine tasting at Jiko in July. They give you 3 wines to try and if you want more refills just ask. There was a plate of cheeses and fruit to pair with the wines. We felt it was worth trying. It was great to chat with new people. Deb Wills was at our table and got to meet her.

Do you get three full glasses of wine, or just three small tasting pours?

The three wines that you sample, are they then for sale in the gift shop upstairs or do they just serve them in the restaurant?

They are 3 large wine glasses half full. As I said they had no problem giving refills of one or more (we had plent to drink before we left). They wines were only for sale at the restaurant so they went for about $45.00 per bottle. You can use Tables of Wonderland discount. They do have south african wines for sale in the store and food court but not the high end wines you try at the tasting.

I'm not familiar with Florida's liquor laws, but here in Pennsylvania if you buy a bottle of wine at the table and don't finish it, the restaurant must re-cork it and allow you to take it home. Does anyone know if that's possible after your wine tasting in Jiko? If I get hooked on a wine from this tasting, how ever will I find it again if I cant take a couple bottles home:mickey:

Also, did you have to pay ahead for this experience when you made your reservations?

The wine tasting you get wine poured from many bottles they supply for cost of the tasting. Again don't be shy to ask for a refill. You can at the end purchase bottles you tasted for around $45.00 and they will be unopened. About Fla law we have had the food court at the AKL uncork a bottle and were allowed to take the bottle and glasses with us. Hope this helps.

:thanks: that is great news:mickey: I was worried we would be hooked on something and never again be able to find it! Which of course would justify more trips to WDW... But anyway, I'm going to call tonight and book one for our upcoming trip. I'd love to be able to do this since well be missing the FWF this year:(

I called yesterday and left a detailed message with all the information the number requested. I didn't receive a return call, so i called again and left another message this morning. I'm starting to worry because we are trying to book for our trip in a few days! Has anyone else had a hard time having the Jiko line return their calls:confused:

We had that problem also. We just kept calling and leaving messages. Also leave the message that you need to plan your trip. I don't think they fill up.
