May 15, 1988 – Disney aired “Captain EO Backstage” on television.
May 15, 1988 – Disney’s TV movie “Justin Case,” starring George Carlin, Molly Hagan, Timothy Stack, Kevin McClarnon, Douglas Sills, Gordon Jump, and Valerie Wildman, aired.
May 15, 1989 – The Disney Channel aired episode 16 of MMC. The musical group Was (not was) appeared on “Music Day” performing “Walk the Dinosaur.”
May 15, 1995 – The “California Grill” Restaurant opened on the top floor of the Contemporary Resort at WDW.
May 15, 1996 – The final purchase took place when Disney Sports Enterprises purchased the California Angels baseball team for $100 million and became Managing General Partner.
May 15, 1998 – Bill Nye (of the syndicated TV show “Disney Presents Bill Nye the Science Guy) won a Daytime Emmy Award for Performer in a Children’s Series.
May 15, 1998 – The Disney/Touchstone film “The Horse Whisperer” was released.
May 15, 1999 - Inspired by Vision , AT&T, and the Innoventions Pre-Show closed at Innoventions West.
May 15, 1999 – The Disney Channel Original Movie “The Thirteenth Year” aired.
May 15, 2001 – The Ronald Reagan Presidential library and Museum in California, featured “Walt Disney-The Man and His Magic,” an exhibit about Walt that would run through September 2001.
