Each day in May, I'll update this first post with the forecast, both long and short term. As a general rule, up to 7 days is a pretty accurate forecast, beyond that it's educated guessing and largely dependent upon how well the models are doing at that moment, which is why I call it "voodooland." If you have any specific weather questions or comments, even if it's for an area other than WDW, please post and I'll answer throughout the thread. I'll also post weather tidbits every so often. If you want to see the exact conditions for your travel dates over the last few years, go to our historic weather page in Info Central here (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/weather/dailytemps.asp). Without further delay, let's get to the forecast:

Weather at WDW - Updated Monday pm, May 30, 2011
Happy Memorial Day! :flag: Take a moment to give thanks for all of those who have given their lives so that the rest of us might enjoy our freedoms.

Well, not much to say about the weather. It's going to be hot and humid with a chance of a pop up afternoon shower. That's pretty much it until September. Highs will be 90-92 through Friday, then 91-93 for Saturday through Monday. Lows will be 70-72. Sea breeze thunderstorms will pop up each afternoon but your chance of seeing one will be about 1 in 4.

Long range...June 7-15 looks no different. Highs will stay in the low 90s, lows in the low 70s and there's a slight chance of a thunderstorm each afternoon. I gotta admit, the next 2 weeks are pretty depressing when you hate the heat as much as I do.

Travel Impact :plane: :truck: :drive:
At 2:45 pm CDT, Boston and Denver have some minor delays. For tomorrow, the biggest delay threat will be over WI, MI, IL, and IN.

Any of you who are nervous about flying, especially related to turbulence, go here (http://homepage.mac.com/lesposen/iblog/B80495344/C2128971884/E162746321/index.html) and here (http://homepage.mac.com/lesposen/iblog/B80495344/C2128971884/index.html) to learn a lot about turbulence. Those two articles should be very helpful in allowing you to understand turbulence and flight safety when it hits. Hopefully all of this will help you relax and enjoy the trip to WDW more!

Glad to hear you and your family are well, Chris. I'll be down there from May 27-30. Seems like it's a little shaky so far for those dates, or am I reading into it too much?

By the way, now that I have my trip booked, I will be obsessively checking this thread way too often. Thanks in advance, Chris, for humoring me.

I wouldn't worry too much about it right now. The GFS is having a habit of showing the ridge breaking down in the long range, but as it gets closer the ridge holds. So, we'll see but I wouldn't worry.

:D It can be a little bit of an addiction. Especially in the crazier months where the voodooland models change dramatically every 6 hours.

If I'm this addicted, it must be a million times worse for you -- you actually have access to the models! I'd be staring at them all day. (Maybe you do that anyway. ;))

Hope to hear some good news as my travel dates leave the uncharted waters of "voodooland."

EDIT: Oh, just saw the update. Now that's more like it! Tell that front to get lost. (Or at least land somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico.)

As usual, i am visiting WDW 1 week after the "perfect week weather-wise." Just hoping it's not toooo hot, and the big thunderstorms hold off till after Memorial Day.
Thanks for your reports, Chris. :mickey:

It's going to be hot, but not horribly so, if that's any consolation. Low 90s are better than mid to upper 90s. The real difference will be the heat index. Humidity won't be off the charts just yet and that should help you some, too. Have a great trip!:mickey:

That kind of heat we can handle. It's the rain I am worried about, but as of today, it seems like we may be in good shape. My fingers are crossed!

Our paths could cross. I'm arriving the 22nd at the WL. Departing the 29th. I'll definitely be at SWW the 27th. And Epcot that evening for EMH. I'll be the little guy with the big grin and the Black SWW cap. Wave if you see me! :here:

I won't be at the Studios on the 27th, but I am planning to be at Epcot for Extra Magic Hours that night! Come say hello! (Or for a flight on Soarin'!)

Hey, Jared. Yep, looks like things will be okay. Certainly no all day rain. Just hit and miss stuff.

Long range...June 1-9 looks like summer. Highs mostly in the low 90s (occasional mid 90s are possible) with lows in the low 70s and pop up thunderstorms each afternoon. The models are still showing definite signs of tropical trouble during the first week of June, but still nothing that looks like it would bother Florida. I'm always skeptical of these phantom storms anyway. Until something is actually forming, it's nothing to worry about.June 1-9? Don't you mean June 1 - Sept 30? ;)

You knew it was coming.

Yep. I think my June 1 post will be my last one until the end of September unless a tropical system comes along. Here's the forecast: Highs in the 90s, lows in the 70s, 50% chance of an afternoon sea breeze thunderstorm. I'll be right 95% of days between June 1 and Sept 30. :D

"Speaking of the tropics, the models are continuing to show something firing up by the end of the first week of June. Still no specifics, and no general pattern that would indicate a threat to Florida, but it'll be worth watching."

Strmchsr,
When you say first week of June is that the first full week of June or the week with the 1st in the middle? I hope I'm not confusing you because I'm confusing myself.

:D I hear what you're asking. IF there were to be a threat, right now it looks like it would be around June 7-9. I still don't see any indication of something threatening Florida, though. But, as I always say, we know absolutely nothing until something actually forms.
