Hi! we are ready for a nov 2011 vacation. As we are 5 3 kids DW and I, we get to stay at Riverside for the first time. I was told we should be given a room at Alligator Bayou as this is the only one with the trundle bed for 5 to fit. Has anyone stay here? any opinions? any recommendations? should we ask for an specific building?. Thanks for any input!

It is our favorite moderate. We were a family of 5 also when the kids were little. There was always plenty of room for us with the trundle bed. I believe bldgs. 14 - 18 are closest to the main building. We just stayed there again in Oct. and it was good to be home. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks! it is our first time at a moderate, we are expecting good things. Is it a nice resort to take a walk around and relax at night?. We are very happy about this trip!

We stayed at POR for the first time in Nov of 2010. We were lucky enough to get Bldg 18 in AB but this was before this area became a bookable preferred category. We really liked the resort. It is pretty, quiet and there are beautiful grounds and lots of trees. We are returning in Nov 2011 and are considering going back to POR but if we do we will book a preferred room to make sure we are close to the main building with the food court. The only downside for us would be getting a room way in the back of the resort. It is a pretty far walk to the main buidling. We were very happy to hear that they created a preferred room category so we don't have to worry about that anymore! If a long walk to the food court doesn't concern you then you can go with the standard room. ENJOY!

This is also our favorite resort, and there's so many relaxing aspects to it, horse and carriage rides, boat to DTD, evenings dockside with a snack or drink, fishing, renting boats...and it's just so lush and tropical that it's a nice add-on to the vacation. We also didn't mind the walk to the front of the resort b/c it was such a pretty environment, and what's another half mile when you're already walking 8 in a day at the parks?

We loved our stay at POR, and even though we've been at POFQ for our last few trips, we always spend AT LEAST and evening or two at Riverside. DD loves the pool (and the slide) and the food court is quite good. There is so much to do, the great pool, the boat to DTD, fishing, and boat rentals. Enjoy your trip!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE POR!!! We had a great time there. Food court was good. The kids LOVED the pool & slide. And they loved being able to take the boat over to FQ to use their pool, too! You've GOT to make Yehaw Bob/Bob Jackson a part of your trip at the River Roost Lounge! He was a highlight of our trip! We have a party of 6 for our next trip so, sadly, we won't be doing POR for our next trip. But I can definitely recommend it! (We picked building 15 - we had rented a car, and it was the closest you could get to the main building and pool, and be near a parking lot. It was perfect!)

Don't forget to take the boat ride down the Sassagoula River to Downtown Disney or POFQ. This is such a relaxing and beautiful ride. I agree that the POR food court is really great... so many choices! Have a great time! I'll be anxious to hear your review :mickey:

Our trip is set for november and we are already planning and expecting a great time. The boat trip would be a plus for the kids. Thanks for all the replies, we will give a review of our trip for sure.

We stayed there in Nov. 2008 and loved it. The kids loved the boat ride to Downtown Disney. They still talk about it. They also loved the pool. It wasn't crowded at all. The food court is also wonderful. Have a magical trip!!:mickey:

We had to stay there last october for the first time because we were traveling with a family of 5 and we loved it! Its such a relaxing place to come back to after being at the parks all day. I highly recommend it. We stayed in building 27 in the allegator bayou and it was a good location for us
