Love the fact that they are using Disney scenes now, and that the characters still look like mini figures. Can't wait to visit.

Does the Lego Store in DTD sell Disney Ride lego sets? Like the facade of the Tower of Terror or other rides facades?

Thanks melanie! Using disney internet right now and it was giving me trouble and then my 24 hours was up so now is the first time I got back to check.

The floor plan is more open the playground is gone. I didn't spend too much time there but the lego figures outside are the bes feature.

Oh that's awesome. I'm a huge LEGO junkie. I'm not ashamed to admit that when I go to WDW, my big souvenir is either a watch, or a nice LEGO set. I'm almost 40 and I counted 17 minifigures in my office yesterday (most on magnets on my fridge, whiteboard, filing cabinet), along with the two Technic motorcycles, the LEGO basketball slam dunk set, Buzz and Woody, and the LEGO Architecture White House. The LEGO store is just about the highlight of my trip, and is the only reason I go to DTD.

Does this lego store sell anything uniquely Disney, somehthing that maybe isnt sold in your average Mall based lego store?

Did they expand it to the old Mcdonalds site?

That place looks really huge now. We were just there this past October, they must have refurbed really fast.

I need to go work for Lego.

No, at least not in the past. It's just bigger than the LEGO stores that you would find in places like Chicago (the only other LEGO store i've ever seen). You have more variety than most stores, but nothing specifically Disney just for this store.

that's funny. I was there on Tuesday and didn't even know it was closed. oh well. I think the Mcdonalds is now a chicken restaraunt.

That's the beauty of Lego - it is all about fast dismantles and quick re-builds!

P.S. - I agree, it is a facinating company to work for, especially at the company headquarters! ;-)

Are the old dispalys still there or just the new ones?

Looks cool! BUT... NO PLAYGROUND??? My daughter loved that playground and we were able to kill time waiting for Trex ADRs and able to one of us could sneak off for secret gifts while she was playing... :( Hope they put another playground in there somewhere.

They seem to have a larger collection of the Star Wars Legos... but not uniquely Disney, that I've seen. They do have a big wall of individual pieces and you can fill a bucket for a flat fee. We thought that was fun, and pretty inexpensive.

I just got the same reaction from my 9 yr old.....NO PLAYGROUND!?!?!?!? Where am I supposed to build stuff now??!?!?! That is what he said.....Hopefully they hear us and put something new in, but I doubt it since they are finished with the refurb.

yes the play ground is gone they still have the area to build and race cars.

The building is bigger and they have put a few more things inside but not much. Thats why I didn't take any pics of inside. It is mostly just more open.

As my DW Krose78 said, all they did to the inside was take out all of the clutter and make it more open an eaiser to get around in. So now they can fit more coustmers inside. Other then the new lego sculps outside then only old sculp is the one of the family and of course the Dragon in the lake. Oh and some posted eariler they did not move into the old McDonlads that place is now a chicken place.

I cannot wait to see the new store in July when we go down. I am not going to tell my kids about the new store. I was down there in March with my Mom and they were housed in the temporary store, and it was horrible!!

the dragon is still in the lake and the people that were outside are still there but they have been moved closer to the building.

The people are cute now. Tourists - with the girl as Cinderella, the boy a pirate and mom and dad in hats, etc. Check our Twitter feed for pics of that and also the other new sculptures.
