Which water park?

We are going to the world in the fall and my DS would like to spend a day at one of the waterparks. The past couple of times we have gone only one of the waterparks was open, but I can't remember which one, which waterpark is usually closed in November and if both are open which would be better for a first timer who is 10?

I'm thinking that if one is closed for refurbishment in November, it's Typhoon Lagoon. (Blizzard Beach just re-opened mid-March from its).

If you're choosing between two open water parks, it really depends on your (and your DS's interests). Both have things to love!

Blizzard Beach:
+ Thrill Slides/Longer Slides/Unique Slides
+ A great Family Raft Attraction
+ Unique "winter" theming
+ Chair Lift (although it's hardly the most efficient means up the hill)

Typhoon Lagoon:
+ Wave Pool far exceeds any other (HUGE waves)
+ Tropical/relaxed feel
+ Unique water 'coaster', a snorkelling experience
+ Shorter/quirkier slides

We tend to alternate experiences; while both have similarities (lazy rivers, etc.)... once you've done one recently, the other is a nice change.
