Friends of ours are thinking of staying at a value for an upcoming trip but need connecting rooms, not adjoining. I know this is not guaranteed, so wanted to ask anyone who has requested connecting rooms at a value, how successful were you?

If children are involved, I've always been successful. The only time it's been an issue, that I've heard about, was a couple of friends - two couples without children - who were given adjoining, but not connecting, rooms. So, it can't be taken as guaranteed, but it seems to be pretty set if there are kids involved.

We've gotten it both times requested.

I've only heard a few instances when connecting rooms were not available upon check-in. In one of the situations, it was because the guest had a number of requests for their room and unfortunately, they all couldn't be met.

I've lost track of the number of times we've stayed at a value resort. Every time my husband travels with us, we always get a connecting room. On one or two occasions, my mom and aunt traveled with us and we got adjoining rooms instead. Disney does its best to keep immediate family together.

We've only requested it once at All-Star Movies in 2003, and we got the connecting rooms.

Have them make the request when they make their reservations. If the request isn't granted when the room assignment, the cast member at check-in should work with them to try to grant the request.

We asked for and got it twice:
1999 at As Mu
2007 at Pop
Both trips involved kids.

:ditto:

Never not had connecting rooms. The one time they didn't have us reserved in them when I checked in they moved us right away into connecting rooms.

1) Absolutely.
2) Although not "guaranteed", it usually does happen.
3) There are lots of connecting rooms.
4) If not, they can usually get one the 2nd day.
5) Over all, I would say be prepared in case "no".
6) But, be relatively assured the answer is "yes".

We always book through Debbie at Magical Journey's and she always puts in our requests up front for us - they've always been met! Just another reason to love MJ!! :mickey:
