Apr. 6, 1990 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Ernest Goes to Jail” was released.
Apr. 6, 1991 – The Disney Channel’s animated TV series “Darkwing Duck” premiered.
Apr. 6, 1993 – Disney’s 2-hour TV movie “Miracle Child” aired on NBC.
Apr. 6, 1997 – Michael Jackson’s 3D movie “Captain EO” had its last performance at Tomorrowland Theater in Disneyland.
Apr. 6, 2001 – The Lizzie McGuire episode “Misadventures in Babysitting” aired on the Disney Channel.
Apr. 6, 2001 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “Just Visiting” was released.
Apr. 6, 2002 – The first of 3 Super Soap Weekends began at Disney’s California Adventure.
Apr. 6, 2003 – Disney aired an exclusive look at the movie “The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”. It was shown on Disney owned and affiliated broadcast and Synergy properties, and in the U.S. Disney Theme Parks.
Apr. 6, 2004 – NASA Administrator Sean O’Keefe and aspiring astronaut Sofi Collis appeared at Epcot for ceremonies honoring the success of the Mars Exploration Rover Mission. Ten-year-old Sofi submitted the winning essay in a naming contest for both of NASA’s JPL Rovers. She suggested the names Spirit and Opportunity. O’Keefe’s quote “We’re back…and we’re on Mars,” was added to a permanent collection of space related quotations on the facade of Mission:SPACE.
Apr. 6, 2004 – The Disney/Touchstone Picture film “Hope Springs” was released direct-to-video.
