My daughter is beginning an internship in Ohio beginning in May. We live outside of Philadelphia. I will be driving out with her and flying home so she will have a car while there. The only direct flight is $345. Way to much for non tourist areas if you ask me. I've been searching Expedia knowing I would do a lay over flight and there is one that has a connection in Orlando!!!!! I was definitely not planning on going to Disney when I was looking, but why not. Most connections are in Atlanta so Orlando is not much further. This flight would be about $55 more than other connecting flights for this day. I could just fly to Orlando one day and then to Philly the next. That is even cheaper. I have an AP and we own DVC so I do have points available to me. The only additional cost would be food. What would you do? I would land in Orlando by 9:30 AM and the flight home would be 4:00 the next day. I have never done a solo trip so that could be fun. I would be there May 24-25. Is it crowded then? I'm pretty sure the heat and humidity would have started by then. Thanks for any advice

Where in Ohio?
I might be able to help with geography and flights and such ... I grew up in Philadephia, went to college in Reading, lived in Cleveland, and I'm a huge Disney fan.
That sounds great! For a short time I would not get very lonely.

I will be in Dayton. I was not even thinking Disney until this connection flight popped up. My husband said to not even consider the flight in the price as I would be flying anyhow. What to do? I'm seriously thinking about it.

Let me get this straight:
You have an AP.
You have DVC points.
You will be flying into Orlando.
You have to eat anyway.
What exactly is the question? :D

I love the responses. I am going to Disneyworld. Yay! This was not my plan at all when I was looking at airfare. My flights actually went down $10.00 each way. I was able to get a standard view studio at the BW, so the points aren't bad and I get to walk out of Epcot after Illuminations. I'm planning a quick trip to the Mk to see the new haunted mansion try to fit in a few more rides and then head to Epcot for the rest of the day. I did not get to spend alot of time in the countries in March so I am looking forward to that. Now, where to eat???
