Hello, sorry if this question has been asked before but I'm very confused. We're taking our first trip ever in September!!

We've planned everything out and don't think we'll need to take advantage of the "park hopper" option for the theme parks. But, we do definitely want to try out the water parks and disneyquest. My question is, can you go to multiple water parks and/or disneyquest on the same day if you don't have the park hopper option?

Yes, you can go from water park to water park (or DQ) on the same day. But, it will take multiple options from your ticket. So, going to both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon in the same day will take 2 "water parks and more" options.

First, you will need to be sure your tickets have the waterparks and more option on them. Do look at how many waterpark and Disney Quest admissions you have planned and determine if the add-on option or paying out of pocket would be more financially advantageous.

Your waterpark and more options equal the number of days of your tickets but work differently. If you have a six day ticket, you will have 6 waterpark and more options. If you go to 2 waterparks on one day, you will use up 2 of those options and have 4 left. If you go to a waterpark and Disney Quest on the say day, you will also use 2 options.

Ok, I have a question that is along these lines. If you get the park hopper and water park and more tickets, can you water park hop without using 2 days of credits?

When you buy a ticket with the Water Park Fun & More option, it usually helps to think of it as 2 separate tickets, a theme park ticket and a water park ticket. This is because there are very different rules for each.

Let's say you have a 6-day ticket with the Parek Hopper option and WPF&M. This means you have 6 DAYS of theme park entry and 6 ADMISSIONS to the water parks and more. Notice I used the words "days" and "admissions" very carefully.

For the theme parks, since you are buying the park hopper option, you can enter as many theme parks as you want during any 6 days during a 14-day period. If you don't go to a theme park on Tuesday, you don't use up one of your theme park days on Tuesday. If you go to all 4 theme parks on Wednesday, you've used up only 1 of your theme park days on Wednesday.

Now, there is no such thing as park hopping when it comes to the water parks. The water parks don't have a concept of a "day." In other words, you don't necessarily get 6 DAYS of water park entries ... you get 6 ADMISSIONS to the water parks and more.

In other words, you are allowed to go to Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and DisneyQuest all on the same day. But if you do, it will cost you 3 WPF&M admissions. There is no such thing as having a park hopper for the water parks. It doesn't exist; this makes it very different from the theme park ticket with the park hopper option. You use up one of your WPF&M admissions when you enter a water park (or DisneyQuest or ESPN Wide World of Sports or play 9 holes of golf). If you enter 2 different water parks on a single day, you use up 2 WPF&M admissions.

Even if you buy the Park Hopper option on your theme park ticket, that doesn't change what I wrote above. The park hopper option itself and the concept of park hopping are not applicable to water parks.

No, park hopping only allows you to hop at the theme parks, not the water parks.

Thanks! That's good to hear -- we had a day planned that includes a water park and disney quest (we have both a water park lover and a video game lover in the group), and wanted to make sure that would work. :mickey:

if you enter the SAME water park twice in the same day .... How does that count? Can you have your hand stamped?

Same day returns are only 1 option. Not as many people do that. The water parks are not open late. IE: Waterpark then food elsewhere and then back to the same waterpark is 1 option.

So, for those of us who may be a little older in the brain (ie: me), if I buy an 8 day hopper with WP&M option, I can go to the parks for 8 days as long as my ticket doesn't expire, AND I can go to the water parks/DQ for X# of entries? And I can go to, say Typhoon Lagoon for the day, Disney Quest from 6-10 and MK for late night EMH using 3 wp&m "admissions" but not park hopper days??

I guess I still get confused somewhat, wanting to make sure that I can get access to the parks for the duration of our stay, but also want to go to the water parks & DQ this year as well without cutting into our park visits.

I know it's probably a simple concept to get, but I just can't quite make my mind get it. Better yet, if anyone wants to be generous/kind and tell me what to buy for our 8n/9d trip, I'd be greatly appreciative.

1. The "Water Park & More" options" and the "park Hopper option for theme parks are two Different things.

2. "Water Park & MOre" options have NOTHING to do with entering one of the Four THEME Parks.

3. Visiting a THEME park for EMH requires a park pass admission. You cannot get into a THEME park for EMH using a Water Park & more option.

4. If you have the hopper option for your theme park pass, you can visit any park's EMH, (assuming you're an on-site resort guest).

5. If you don't have the hopper, you can only enter ONE THEME park per day, (you can enter the same park more than once that day). You cannot enter a Different THEME park on the same day without the HOPPER option (even for EMH).

No.

Magic Kingdom is a theme park. If you go into a theme park, you use up a theme park day. So in your example above, you up 2 WPF&M admissions (1 for Typhoon Lagoon, and 1 for DisneyQuest) and 1 theme park day.

You say you're staying for 9 days. Ask yourself during how many of those days will you be going to THEME parks. Buy a ticket with that many days on it. And then add the Water Park Fun & More option to that ticket.

Also, if you don't plan to go to more than 1 theme park per day, then don't bother paying the $54 for the park hopper option.

For instance, in your example above of going to Typhoon Lagoon, DisneyQuest and Magic Kingdom all in the same day, you DO NOT need the park hopper option in order to do that. Going to a water park/DisneyQuest on the same day as a theme park is NOT park hopping. Park hopping means going to Magic Kingdom and Epcot on the same day, for example.

You are correct and if I had paid closer attention to what I was doing, I would have noticed the error.

We actually do use the park hoppers just about every day. Many times we will spend a good part of the day in one park, and visit another park after dinner or even for ADR's.
