:mickey:Hi all,

We are staying at the SoG April 6-10 and we're wondering just how close it is from the Poly and the TTC. Has anyone walked to and from or do you recommend the busses? Thanks!!! Soooo excited about our upcoming trip. We are going to the Luau for the first time, too!

On most trips, we have had 3 or 4 rooms of kids and grandkids at SoG...and most of the family recommends walking to Poly. We almost always park hop, and even on days where we start at some other park, we usually end the evening at MK, and walk back to SoG from the Poly. SoG is a very short walk from the Poly...about the same distance as from the MK entrance to the Castle...less than a quarter of a mile....And going that way allows you to walk right by Capt Cook's...in the AM, you can make a quick stop for Tonga Toast, and in the evening, you can stop for a self serve Dole Whip.

On our last several trips, we usually used the SoG to TTC bus, which runs every half hour, for EPCOT, or even for AK and DHS...sometimes in the AM, the first buses to AK or DHS was very crowded, and going to those parks via Disney buses from TTC saved steps, and usually saved time. We also drove to the parks on several days...found on one trip, hauling ECV's and parking in HC spaces really was more convenient than boarding most buses with ECV's.

For MK, we always walked to the Poly, and rode the Monorail ...although sometimes when returning, we got off at TTC and took the bus to SoG. Hated to miss the Dole Whip, but there is a very good Ice Cream shop in SoG.

If "walking" to the Poly in the morning you may be able to catch the "Shady Shuttle".....a golf cart manned by a SOG employee who will take you to the end of the driveway and drop you off. We have used this once or twice and it's nice -- cuts down a little on the walk in the morning.

The walk to/from the Poly is not long though. We usually talked about what we were going to do or what we had done on the way. We were always vigilant about gators though.....you never know where they are and on our last trip there was about a 4 ft long one in the pond by the guard shack -- so we just watched and moved quickly!

SOG is a great place and you are gonna love it there!

As you're walking along the path to the Poly from SoG, watch for the gazebo. It's a great place to sit for a few minutes and relax before continuing on.

DITTO!! When I go over to SoG to purchase tickets in September, I'll be stopping for some ice cream - it's delicious.
