In looking at a blurry map of the hotel online, it appears there's a monorail stop on the 2nd floor near the Kona Cafe...is that correct? We're just doing a quick 2 day stay to see some Spring Training games and won't be doing the parks. Is it possible to jump on the monorail from the resort and just ride it in a loop back again? Does anyone know approx how long a loop might take? Wonder if we can fit it in before or after our late breakfast ressies?
Thanks, again, for the help...all of you on the borads are AWESOME!

Correct, monorail exit/entrance is about 100 ft from Kona Cafe on the 2nd floor.
Yes, anyone can ride it around the loop. I'd ballpark the roundtrip at about 20 minutes with most of the time being spent loading/unloading at the stops (Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom, Contemporary, and Ticket & Transportation Center).

This is something we do every year. Sometimes, we hop off at each resort to walk around, other times we just ride the loop! :)

Another fun thing to do is to get off at the Ticket & Transporation Center and get on the monorail to EPCOT and ride it roundtrip!

 After our disney cruise we had breakfast at disney (with some intercot friends) and then did the monorail loop, just because it felt like we were there...the Epcot one is nice, since you can see so much of the park.

Riding the monorail is definitely one of the great perks of staying at the Polynesian! As others have mentioned, the station is located right outside the doors on the second floor of the lobby, adjacent to the Kona Cafe sushi bar. The monorail makes stops at the Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom, Contemporary and the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Have fun!

Poly one of our fav resorts because of the Monorail. Agree w/ other posts: 2nd level, about 20 RT, and EPCOT loop is fun. But be warned, you might find yourself squeezing in a day at a park :mickey:

my ds' still consider it a "ride"....too bad - but for obvious reasons - riding up front is no longer an option-cool views riding with the driver.... :(
