My lady friend needs a scooter due to a very bad knee for our trip the first of May.
I was looking at Sun Scooters to rent.

Has anyone used this company and was it a good or bad experience?

Any input is appreciated.:mickey:

No experience with Sun, but we rented from Apple for my DS this last trip and had a great experience. Especially the customer service. We were given a scooter initially with a defective battery (died within 2 hours after a full charge). We were stuck in the middle of Animal Kingdom with the battery gone out with no warning. Within 20 minutes they brought us a brand new scooter to the park.

They may be a new outfit or go by some other name because in nine years of renting scooters in Orlando, I've never heard of Sun Scooters. When I don't bring my own these days, I rent from Apple.

:mickey:Another Apple scooter fan. I was recovering from a broken ankle last fall and I rented a 3-wheel one from them and it was a great experience. They are by far the least expensive and it includes insurance with the cost. We are going again next week and my DH has a bum knee as well as COPD and is renting one from Apple.

I have never heard of Sun Scooters. Have used many places in the past, including Care Medical, Walker Mobility, Scootarama and Apple. Hands down Apple is the best - great prices, equipment in like new shape and unbelieveably superior customer service.

Add me to the list of those who have not heard of Sun Scooters. I also rented from Apple Scooters. Great customer service.... great prices. Like Ransam said, Alex is great to work with.

Thank you all for all of your input and again intercotes have again spoken with great wisdom.

I love this site.

I did a little more research on Sun Scooters and found that although their prices are about $20 cheaper for a 4 day rental they DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE. Infact if something happens to the unit they state they will charge your credit card for any and all repairs up to and including replacement.

Having said that it looks like we will have a healthy apple in our future..

Thanks again guys and gals.:mickey:

We have used Apple several times and very happy with their service. They do include insurance with the rental price.
We rent two each trip and always choose the Pride Victory 10 Super Deluxe. This model has the Captain's Chair which is very comfortable.

DW and I are both ECV users. She brings her own, and I rent from Apple.
I did a load of research on the internet, and found Apple gives the best bang for the buck. I have used them my last two trips, in the last two Septembers.
I am a big guy , a bit over the 300 mark, and their scooters work well for me.

I too have a bad knee and actually need to have a knee replacement (whenever I can must up the courage). I have used several different companies and Apple Scooter is the best and the cheapest. Actually I will be at WDW tomorrow and my scooter will be waiting for me at Boardwalk villas when I arrive.:mickey:

Does the Apple company have a website or how can I get the phone number? We will be going in Sept and my mother can't walk well. I want to get her a scooter, so that she can enjoy this trip as much as me. Also, couple of more questions... about how much do they cost to rent and about how long does the battery last? Thanks!!

Google Apple Scooters Orlando and you'll get their website.

As for cost, it was $150 for us for the week (8 days), but I think there's some larger models that are a little more.

The battery lasted pretty much all day for us (8-10 hours in the park). Could have gone a little longer, I think.
