Paid off my trip this week. 40 days till my nephew and I arrive at my favorite place in the world. Anyone else going the 1st week of April? Any ideas on occupying a 6yr old on an 18 hour drive

I just did the same last Monday. We are 54 days out... whooohooo.

As for your nephew, do you have a portable DVD player w/car charger? My DD loves ours, as well as her DSi. Coloring books/crayons.

The DVD player is a good idea but I'd have a goody bag of other items on hand as well - perhaps some pipe cleaners; crayons and coloring book; a few other small items that you think would interest him and that you can pull out from time to time as he begins to get bored or fidgety!

I had a few more thoughts...

You could go to the dollar store and get some small toys, cars etc. Wrap them up and give it to him if he gets board. Nothing like opening up a present to make a 6 yo smile.

For small toys I guess it's convient that I work at a Dollar Tree. lol :woohoo:

Also remember to make some extra stops along the way. Those little legs liked to be stretched. We took a nerf football for the rest areas and made sure all little boys had some run around time.
