Hi, this is my first trip report - hopefully you'll enjoy hearing about our trip as much as I enjoy reading about everyone elses!
Here goes . . .
Cast:
Me (39)
Molly (8)
Matt (11)
With appearances by my parents, sisters, nieces and nephews
Feb. 2 – 7th at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Day 1, Wednesday, Feb. 2nd
We left our house in Colorado with the actual temperature of 17 below, I can’t remember the wind chill, but it was some ridiculously low number that Floridians are just not accustomed to. (We just moved to CO from South FL 2 months ago.) We took off on time and landed about 10 minutes early, around 1:30pm. We made our way to the Magical Express counter for the first time ever and it was great! I really can’t say enough about how wonderful this service is. We only waited about 15 minutes for the bus. We were the last of the 4 stops, but were checked in and ready to get to the parks around 3:30 or so. We’ve never stayed at AKL or any deluxe before and we absolutely loved it. We didn’t have the funds to have a good view this time, but the hotel was beautiful and peaceful.
We headed to Epcot and were able to do Figment 2x (a reoccurring theme this trip) and SE before mom and dad called to say they were in the park. We met up with them and decided to save the world. We went to Japan and had a great time before heading to dinner at the Garden Grill. We went about an hour early because the kids were tired and hungry. We were seated right away, even though they told us 20 minutes. The food and characters were wonderful. After dinner we watched Illuminations and went back to the hotel where the kids swam for a bit before heading to bed.
It was our first time ever flying to Disney and a great first day!
