Just booked for 9/24-10/1. How has your experience with the weather been in September? Concerned about lots of rain at this time as we come from upstate NY where it snows and rains more than anything else :) I looked up the average rainfall and it's significantly less in October than it is in September, even though it's still hurricane season. Does anyone find that to be the case? thanks!!!

We typically visit in late September and find the weather to be hot (upper 80's - lower 90's,) humid (80%+,) with occasional afternoon/evening showers. I do not believe that in the last 5-6 years we have been washed out more than one or two days in total. Our trips tend to run 10 nights (if that helps.)

last year we went late october. The year before we went sept. 1. We definatly liked october better. It was cooler, and less crowded. It rained maybe twice while we were there but we never got wet cause it was a short rain.

We've always gone in late September and like the pp said, it's hot & humid with the occasional storm, but we've never had a ton of rain. It's always been your typical southern weather, with afternoon showers that tend to pass quickly.
