Jan. 4, 1958 – Actor Matt Frewer was born in Washington, D.C. He is the voice of Panic for “Hercules” and “Mickey’s House of Villians,” and appeared in the live-action “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” as Big Russ. (TV fans may remember him as Max Headroom!)
Jan. 4, 1962 – Voice actress, writer, and radio host April Winchell was born in N.Y.C. Her Disney Voice credits include “Kim Possible: So the Drama,” “Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas,” and “Tarzan & Jane.” April is the daughter of Paul Winchell (the voice of Tigger) and Nina Russell.
Jan. 4, 1963 - Dave Foley, the voice of Flik from the movie “A Bug’s Life” was born in Etobicoke, Canada a suburb of Toronto.
Jan. 4, 1976 – The Disney TV show aired “Twister, Bull from the Sky.”
Jan. 4, 1986 - The Biscuit Barrel in the United Kingdom closed and would reopen with a new name.
Jan. 4, 1989 – The WDW attraction “If You Could Fly” closed in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom. (Was replaced by Dreamflight.)
Jan. 4, 1996 - Michael Eisner spoke to a group of shareholders and unveiled his plans for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, WDW 25th Anniversary, Celebration, and the Disney Cruise Line.
Jan. 4, 1997 – The Disney cartoon TV series “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” began airing on ABC.
Jan. 4, 1998 – The Downtown Disney Pleasure Island country/western club “Neon Armadillo” closed its doors. (It would be replaced with the BET Soundstage Club.)
Jan. 4, 1998 – Disney’s “Principal Takes a Holiday” aired on The Wonderful World of Disney.
