I've been going to the Flower Power Concerts for a few years now.

There were fantastic in the beginning because groups were appearing everyday.

The perennial favorites (of mine) are Paul Revere and Davy Jones.

Timing and prices kind of dictated when I go but this year, the three last groups are Paul Revere, Davy Jones and Herman's Hermits with Noonan.

For anyone that has seen all three, how does Noonan stack up to Revere and Davy Jones?

Actually its Peter Noone. But anyway, he would be the best and most true to the original music. Paul Revere is good but half comedy and original singer Mark Lindsay hasn't been with them for years. Davey Jones is lost without Mickey Dolenz and the rest of the Monkees.

I have albums of all 3 groups and probably like Paul Revere best just listening to music, but Peter Noone will put on the best show by far. Just my two cents.

We saw Davy Jones, Peter Noone and Rick Springfield in concert this summer at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, CA. Rick was loud and unless you are a big fan, was not all that good. Davy was okay, but Peter was the best of the lot by far. He did the Hermits classics (including my favorite No Milk Today) and a number of impersonations that were great (Johnny Cash...gotta do that since we are so close to Folsom prison, Elvis, Mick Jagger). It was a great mix of music and humor. I'd pay to go see him again any time. If you are not a fan of his music, though, I don't know. I grew up listening to him and was always a fan, so I could be biased.

Thanks for the info gents! I'm only able to go for one of those weekends so I wanted to make it count.

I've seen Davy and Paul Revere quite a few times over the years so I guess it's Peter Noone's turn.

I had read at some point last year that he did put on a great show and really seem to love it up on stage.,

Thanks again, I think I'll go that weekend to see him.

And yes, I grew up with all those groups and loved all their songs.

Peter Noone really is the best of the 3. DH works in audio and has done sound for all of them; while they're all good (although as one poster noted, Mark Lindsay no longer tours w/Paul Revere), Noone puts on a real show.

As an aside, he's also a terrific guy. Years ago during sound check at an outdoor show on a really hot day, he saw my sister and me sitting in the hot sun. He shouted, "You look really hot...wait a minute!" He ran backstage, then ran out with an armful of Haagen-Daz bars for us. What a great guy and a true gentleman!

I like Davy Jones and Paul Revere and the Raiders, but Peter Noone is fantastic. He certainly was swoon-material back when I used to listen to my older sister's record albums and he still puts on a great show. My only complaint with the Flower-Power shows is that they're too short!

Anyway, go enjoy the concert and don't forget to sing along with "Henry VIII"!

Glad to hear this...We will be at the festival when Peter Noone is there. Being children of the 60's...we are excited!!:mickey:

Peter Noone still sounds fantastic, puts on a great show, and still makes my heart go pitter-patter!
