Dec. 14, 1935 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “Broken Toys” was released.
Dec. 14, 1938 – An afternoon story meeting took place at the Disney Studios. Walt and his staf discuss Sequence 10 of “Pinocchio.”
Dec. 14, 1951 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Bee on Guard” was released.
Dec. 14, 1954 – Disney’s 1944 animated feature “The Three Caballeros” was released in West Germany.
Dec. 14, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Anything Can Happen Day” on ABC-TV.
Dec. 14, 1955 – The Disneyland TV series presented episode 5 of “Davy Crockett and the River Pirates.”
Dec. 14, 1961 – Disney’s first live-action musical feature film “Babes in Toyland,” starring Ray Bolger, Tommy Sands, Annette Funicello, and Ed Wynn was released.
Dec. 14, 1964 – Actor Todd Turquand, a member of the 1977-1978 TV show “The New Mouseketeers,” was born.
Dec. 14, 1966 – Lilly Disney visited her ill husband in the hospital and is encouraged by the strength he shows. Walt’s brother Roy visited him at night and they talked about company matters. Epcot, and Disney World, Walt looked at the ceiling and pointed out the design of the new Florida park to a teary-eyed Roy. After Roy left, Walt asked to have his bed raised so he could look toward the nearby Disney Studios. At Roy’s orders, everyone of the studios lights were left on to shine through the night.
Dec. 14, 1973 – The Disney film “Superdad” had its premiere in Los Angeles. (General release was Jan. 18, 1974)
