Nov. 21, 1911 – Animator Andy Engman was born in Vasa, Finland. He would work at the Disney Studios from 1937-1971 on such classic features as “Snow White,” “Make Mine Music,” and “The Jungle Book.”
Nov. 21, 1940 – Legendary singer-piano player Dr. John, was born Malcolm Rebennack in New Orleans. (He Would go on to record a version of Cruella DeVil.)
Nov. 21, 1942 – Original mouseketeer Ronnie Steiner was born in Canada.
Nov. 21, 1943 – An ad for War Bonds featuring Disney Art appeared in an NFL program for a game between the Pittsburgh Steagles and the Detroit Lions. (The Pittsburgh Steelers have temporarily merged with the Philadelphia Eagles As team rosters have become depleted by the ongoing world war.) The art was from the “Ave Maria” sequence of “Fantasia.”
Nov. 21, 1944 – The Circle-Vision film “From Time to Time” opened in the Transportarium in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Nov. 21, 1952 – The Mickey Mouse cartoon “Pluto’s Christmas Tree” was released.
Nov. 21, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Fun with Music Day” on ABC-TV.
Nov. 21, 1956 – The Disneyland TV series aired “At Home with Donald Duck.”
Nov. 21, 1957 – Disney’s TV series Zorro featured the 7th episode of the season titled, “Monastario Sets a Trap.”
Nov. 21, 1958 – The Walt Disney Presents TV series aired part-1 of “Johnny Tremain.” (Part-2 aired Nov. 28, 1958)
