Oct. 12, 1911 – Disney Legend & producer Bill Anderson was born in Smithfield, Ut. His Disney credits include the Disneyland TV series and such live-action features as “The Barefoot Executive,” “The Apple Dumpling Gang,” and “The Shaggy D.A.”
Oct. 12, 1955 – “The Adventures of Mickey Mouse” aired on the Disneyland TV series.
Oct. 12, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Anything Can Happen Day” on ABC-TV.
Oct. 12, 1976 – Brad Kane, known mostly as the singing voice of the street urchin-turned-prince in Disney’s “Aladdin,” was born in N.Y.C.
Oct. 12, 1986 – The Golden Horseshoe Revue in Disneyland’s Frontierland officially closed. The show (written by Wally Boag and Donald Novis) has been running since July 1955.
Oct. 12, 1987 – The Disney TV special “Funny, You Don’t Look 200” aired on ABC.
Oct. 12, 1990 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Mr. Destiny,” and filmed at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C. starring James Belushi, Linda Hamilton, Michael Caine, John Lovitz, and Hart Bochner was released.
Oct. 12, 1995 - Walt Disney World welcomed “Michelle Davis” as its 500 millionth guest.
Oct. 12, 1997 – Intercot, the best source for information on Disney, came online.
Oct. 12, 1997 – The Wondeful World of Disney aired “Honey We Shrunk Ourselves” featuring Rick Moranis as Wayne Szalinski.
Oct. 12, 1997 – Disney Channel debuted a new episode of “Muppets Tonight” with guest star Pierce Brosnan.
Oct. 12, 1998 – Disney’s 75th anniversary Online Special Events presented an online chat with Virginia Davis.
