On my upcoming December trip, I plan to undertake a Drink Around the World Showcase  excursion. While I have completed the loop a few times before, I am hoping for some new ideas.

I searched online, and just ordered a really cute FREE personalized passport - you have each server sign the passport in each country for a souvenir. I bought the deluxe kit too, since it was cheap and I thought I would get some good tips (and I thought the beverage and bathroom guide would be handy), and then I thought I would post here since you might all have some ideas too. :D

THANKS! We will be there the first week of December celebrating my 44th!

That passport sounds cool but the link you provided doesn't work. A google search didn't help either as it only found links to the World Showcase passport they sell in the park.

I will let you all know how they look when they arrive, but they look really cute online!

I guess my advice would be to space it out a lot. I've run into too many beligerant visitors on my last two trips. And definitely avoid rides during your tour. I've been lucky enough to not see someone urp after Mission:Space.

Exactly! DH says he's waiting for the day someone tries to take a swim in World Showcase Lagoon. To many guests are overindulging on their tour around the world and some don't know when to stop.:mickey:

I would say start around noon... some of the drinks are stronger than you'd think. My fiance and I only made it to 3 countries before we were feeling it intensely. Also, don't miss the Oasis slushies in Morocco and the Grand Mariner slush in France!

maybe a few years ago, but not now...I'd rather EAT my way around! lol...you know what they say, the skinny ones are the ones who can eat the most! i can put many to shame!

:D

They should have an eat around the world theme too, so those who don't/can't drink or those who simply don't want to leave Epcot in a drunken stupor can participate too, lol...

Funny that you say that - I figured since I was planning to Drink Around the World Showcase, I should also Snack Around the World Showcase to avoid being an awful drunken guest. So, if you look under dining, I also posted a question about Snacking Around the World Showcase! :secret:

Rules of advice: Go on the rides BEFORE you start drinking, eat lots of carbs along the way, drink plenty of water, and before you go to bed have one tall glass of water, and two asprine.

Found it! However, I don't think I will be doing it in one day, I have 3 day to EPCOT on the next trip I may just have to space it out.

My husband and I are looking forward to our anniversary trip to The Food and Wine Festival coming up soon. We plan to take advantage of our time alone and do some wine and drink sampling. We don't go overboard, though. We like to spread it out over the whole vacation. That being said, during last year's anniversary trip to Epcot, we discovered the newly opened tequila bar in Mexico. Uh...all I can say is...thank goodness we were staying at The Beach Club. We managed to weave our way back to our room and rest a bit before venturing over to the rides. :marg: :D

I did this while in college during the F&W Festival. Definitely much more difficult and definitely something I cannot do almost 15 years later. It would be nice if they had something for this. Epcot could have its own little passport book and have 1/2 size drinks for participants.

My hubby and I love to do this... A few tips though:
1. Only buy 1 drink in each country and share! Not only does is keep you from getting too drunk, but you save alot of money!
2. Start early and take your time! Don't rush from one place to the other. Enjoy the experience....this will also keep you from getting too tipsy too fast!
3. Share some snacks along the way.
4. Drink some water in between each country.

HAVE FUN!!

Got the passports yesterday - they really are cute and came faster than promised. The font they use to personalize the passports looks great!

Now, reading all your posts, I am getting really excited! We have done the excursion in the past, each having our own drink - I like the idea of sharing a drink in each country. (The deluxe guide also made this suggestion.) The guide also had some Hidden Mickeys in each country, so I think we will try to do pictures of a Hidden Mickey in each country with our beverages...

When we've done this in the past, we've always run into other people doing the same excursion. I've never run into anyone belligerent - I would hate for people to get too drunk and obnoxious in Disney World!!

I would ditto the space it out park. On my last trip a twenty something girl staggered out of Germany and promptly threw up in a flower bed. Not a lot of magic there....and not something I would want my kid to see.

I would definitely like to check this out. Would you mind sending me a DM with a link to the site you ordered from?

I LOVE beer and really want to try it out, I'm reasonably certain I can handle it over the course of a night with dinner and a snack or two thrown in there. I'm not too sure about my girlfriend, but we're gonna give it a go in January.

And to the poster who mentioned the tequila bar in Mexico, I'm both proud and sorry to admit that it, too, was my downfall. Why I thought it would be a good idea, after already sampling some German and Norwegian beer, to ask the bartender for "his favorite," I will never know.

In the past few years I know there have been alot of complaints about the guests that overinduldge. I'm not a fuddy duddy but last year DH and I both were pretty disgusted over a few that thought they could handle themselves and were pretty drunk. Security had to be called to escort them out. It really ruins the atmosphere of Disney.:mickey:

Well, I hate to hear that some guests go overboard. I think having a beverage in each country can be fun, but I definitely think people have to monitor their intake! That said - still can't wait to Drink Around the World Showcase in December!! :number1:

That's happened to us also, except he was about 7 and threw up his whole meal in the dining room. It made me sick too. We had to leave the room. It's contagious.

So I decided to make a pre-Christmas gift for my hubby, to get him excited for our December trip. I want to put together a basket of adult fun stuff. I thought I would include the personalized Drink Around the World Showcase passports, their imprinted lanyards, their deluxe guide, a beer from each country and...

What ideas do you all have for items for the adult fun gift basket?

This. Is. Awesome.

Even though "free" added up kind of quickly for 4 passports, lanyards, etc., I'm so excited to get it! We always get stuff for the kids before the trip, but never anything for ourselves...YAY!

We just got back and although we didn't do this - for those that are planning it ---- I have to recommend the :marg: avocado margarita :marg: at the Margarita bar in Mexico. I know, it sounds a little odd but I have to tell you it is awesome! :cloud9:

Uh...that poster was me, and I completely and totally blame the bartender for the condition my husband and I left that bar in. Really...it was his fault. ;)

My personal fav at La Cava is the Jalapeno Margarita ... it is not spicy hot. It just has the hint of a pepper taste to it. muy bueno!

Something crazy is happening ... when I go to the site it's no longer advertising the merchandise ... instead something about Addressing Life's Celebrations is showing on the screen.

I ordered late at night, so I didn't get the call until the next day (LOL and really, I was called because I messed up my CC number ), but it was a pleasant phone conversation and I was told mine were printed and shipped that day (even with the screwy CC#).

Could somone please PM me the link? We went with another couple in June - my husband and BFF's husband did the drinking around the world. They survived but they also spaced it out through the day. We had a great time! My friend and I probably came close to drinking around the world but we actually split quite a few of our drinks!

Sure! Splitting drinks is great ... you can get more variety that way.

Since a lot of suggestions have been made regarding the OPs original question, I'm going to close this. I'd suggest using the Private Message feature for questions regarding the passport.

Thanks guys and happy (but responsible) drinking!
