Ok so I apologize for holding out so long on my trip reports. It has been crazy around here, with work and getting my DD ready for high school.

So anyway onto the trip reports!

Day 1

Woke up, or crawled out of bed completely exhausted, but excited to start our vacation. Everyone up and showered and we headed down for our complimentary breakfast at the airport hotel. Very nice breakfast. We then headed down to the motorcourt and waited for our driver. He arrived right on time 10am. We used Quicksilver and we were happy with the great service. He arrived in a luxury SUV - Escalade, which thrilled our DD. Off to Publix for some quick shopping for the trip and then on to our resort.

Now if you dont remember, since my last report was soooooo long ago ;-) we are staying at my parent's timeshare at Bonnet Creek. It is a beautiful resort. Checked in, room not what my mom requested, and apparently not available. Made a quick call to my mom to explain what was being offered, and we agreed on Tower 5. Check in complete and stored our luggage and groceries, then off to change to go swimming! Hung out at the pool, had a nice beverage and enjoyed the afternoon. Room was to be ready sometime around 4 and they were to call when ready. After a round of mini golf and some more swimming, we checked to see if it was ready...Nope still not even though it was close to 4. However, now Tower 4 was available with water view which is what my mom had requested, so we switched to that Tower per my mom's request. Room not ready, but we were told they would call when it was. So off we went to explore some more of the resort and some more swimming. Around 5 we went back to check and the room is still not ready. At this point I am getting aggravated. It is 1 hour past check in time and we have been moved numerous times (per my mom's request). I explain that we have dinner reservations and would really like to get cleaned up and catch their shuttle. They tell me there is nothing that they can do, because the room is still being cleaned. But we can move to Tower 5 partial water view because that room is ready. Ok cleared with mom and I just want to shower before dinner! So i head back to the desk and I am told, nope no such room available! Are you serious!!!! OK fine, just keep us in the room that is still not cleaned for whatever reason and call us when its ready.

So we head down to DTD and check in for our ressies at T-Rex. Glad to be in Disney, even if just DTD! Dinner was very good, I had a burger, DD had Mushroom ravioli in lobster sauce and said it was beyond good, and DH had an appetizer sampler for his dinner.

After dinner, we walked around a bit, took the water taxi to the Market Place. Did a little shopping and then decided we wanted to go back to the resort and relax. It was 9 by this time and it had been a long day. Plus my parents were to arrive around 10. Instead of waiting for a shuttle we opted for the Taxi and we were back at the resort in no time. Checked in, and yes it was finally ready! Beautiful room in Tower 4, 6th floor, overlooking the water. Our luggage and groceries were already in the room. Except....wait our refrigerated groceries are missing! So I called the front desk, no problem be right up with them. 1 hour later still no parents or groceries. So I called front desk again and was told she was very busy and it would be just easier if I would go get them myself! Um ok. So off I go, waited about 10 minutes for them to be able to find them...and then a manager came out. He asked if there was a problem, so I explained the check in situation and he apologized. Couldn't explain why the room took so long to be ready and was really taken back by the woman on the phone telling me to get my own groceries. He went around back and came back with a small gift basket of waters and snacks. Thanked him and we were on own way.

Around 11ish my parents finally arrived, they got lost on International Drive, lol and they live in FL!

Day 2

Spent the day around the resort swimming, took a high pressure tour, daughter made tye dye t-shirts, and then DTD for dinner. We ate at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. My DD and I shared a caesar salad and mushroom ravioli, DH had Chicken alfredo (i think) my mom had Chicken Caesar salad and my stepdad had spicy beef goulash. All was very good. Then DD, DH and stepdad spent the evening in DisneyQuest. My mom and I spent some quality time together. Went in the shops, and watched a dance competition in the outside theater area and listened to a singer outside at the House of Blues. Once the rest joined us we took a cruise on the water taxi and then back to the resort for some swimming.

Day 3

Up and out a little later than I would have liked. We arrived Universal Studios at about 11. Got our tickets and checked out the waiting times. Boy was it hot! First up DD wanted to do Rock-it. So DD and my stepdad waited and rode. Only about a 45 min wait so not too horrible. While they were on, I sent DH to buy express passes for the family. Which turned out to be a great idea. We never waited for more than 5 minutes for any ride the remainder of the day. We completed the park by 6 and DD and stepdad decided to go on Rock-it again. Which was fine with us, we laid on the grass and relaxed while we waited. Stopped at Olive Garden and were back at the resort pool by 10 and laundry getting done!

Up next...DISNEY CHECK IN!!!!!!

I'm glad you were finally settled in to a great room - it sure took a bit to get you there, though! Sounds like a nice couple of days.

We ate at TRex for the first time & decided it was a definite repeat. We too were very pleased with our meals - and the ambiance was fun!

Looking forward to the Disney leg of your journey! :mickey:
