Just wanted to post that I am headed to Tunica, MS for a long weekend at the end of the month for a free stay at Harrah's Tunica (Thurs-Sunday). Haven't ever been but I haven't been to Vegas either so I don't think it will be too disappointing compared to Harrah's Cherokee where I usually play (which pretty much is a rip off anyways.) Looking forward to some comp meals and drinks and just relaxing...

Anyone been to Tunica to gamble?

I have never even heard of this place before. Is it a place that has casino's own by Native Americans or is it something different?

I remember driving "by" here one time when we were headed somewhere????? It's on the border with Memphis I think? We could see it off in the distance (and it looked pretty at night with the lights) and I had no idea there was gambling in that area. Have fun Janet! I say a carefree weekend of relaxing, gambling, drinking, eating is well deserved! :)

We were there a couple of weeks ago, but we stayed at their campground. It's a nice place and some of the blackjack dealers were lots of fun. I hope you enjoy yourself. Be aware, you can catch a shuttle from Harrah's to two of the other casinos (I don't remember the names). Paula Dean's buffet was pretty good food. Most of all. Have fun.

Tunica is an area about 30 mins I think south of Memphis...it does have it's own airport (supposedly) that AirTran has started serving and our extra cheap junket included airfare. I got my offer from Harrah's through their players club for Thurs-Sat nights hotel plus RT air for two folks for a total of $299. Most meals and almost all drinks are comped so I figured it would be a cheap weekend. I know our local Harrah's is an Indian casino but I don't think these are? There are a total of around 10 casinos in the area (most served with a shuttle, or shuttle then walking.)

I do a TR when I get back =)

I was in Oxford, Mississippi a few years ago and we went to Tunica for the evening. This was before I had been to Vegas and I was super impressed by the Casinos (we went to Harrah's and two others) and the buffets. I think you will have a good time!
