Booking Question

We are new to DVC so pardon our ignorance. Our home resort is BLT. If we booked at BLT for late summer 2011 and then at the 7 month window tried to get BCV, can we just transfer the points (from BLT ressie to the new one at BCV)? We'd really like to stay at BCV but wanted to have BLT to fall back on if there were no openings. Is this possible? Thanks.

Yep, as long as the stay is outside of your banking window, any extra points can be banked. If not, you'll need to use them or lose them.

What you are trying to do is how you should approach booking EVERY YEAR! Get your home resort and try to get out (if you want). waiting until 7 months is not a good idea, but many do it and have success.

Yep, that's the way to do it. Book at your home resort at 11 months and then try to book at 7 months to other DVC resorts. That way if nothing is avail, you still have your original booking.

Yep, as others have said you're taking the best approach to your reservation! :thumbsup: It's always best to book at 11 months, even if you know you want to switch at 7 months, just to be sure you have something booked. We're planning on trying this for our May 2011 trip. We are booked at Kidani, one of our home resorts, and at the 7-month mark, we're going to try switching to either BWV or BCV to try something new. But, we won't be disappointed if we end up staying at Kidani, either, so we're good either way! :mickey:
