A brand name I have been buying for years has these new chips - the 2nd ingredient is high oleic canola oil? Is that a bad oil (as in fat)? Haven't ever heard of it....but the chips sure do taste good!!

It's a high stability oil, meaning I think that it doesn't break down to be absorbed by the food while cooking. Food cooked in it is going to be lower in trans fat and better for you. So that's a good thing.

Thanks.

It says 0 trans fat so hopefully it is better than most. Sometimes the "new" terms get confusing and the food ends up worst for you than the ones you know to avoid.

It's a good kind of oil. Good for heart health. Just don't eat too many chips! They still have calories. ;)

Doesn't Alexia also have sunflower oil?
