10 days before your arrival date you can enter all of your family information--address, credit card for the file, etc as well as note any special needs like cribs or handicapped assistance. When you arrive you go through the "online" line rather than the regular line.

Supposedly this speeds things up as you only have to walk up and get your keys and packet. No waiting to give all of your info to the CM. In theory this works well. However, they don't have as many CM's working the online line and sometimes you get someone who wants to ask 5 billion questions at the desk which means it takes longer than the "regular" line. So, if you're a Disney vet who just needs your key and packet, do online check-in. If you have questions or special requests, just wait and do the regular line.
