My condolences to the Steinbrenner family, the Yankees and their fans. It's been a rough week for them after the loss of Bob Sheppard too.

Mr. Steinbrenner was a lightning rod for baseball owners in the early years. Whether firing a manager or publicly challenging a player, or even starting his own YES network to carry his team's games. He was ahead of his time that was for sure. Instead of pocketing ALL the money, he used that to re-invest, if you will, into players salaries. So he demanded perfection from everyone in his employment. After all we are talking about the New York Yankees. The most winningest team in the history of baseball.

RIP George you will be missed.
