We read this on Disney's Blog any one know when it will open?
The new 250-seat La Hacienda will only be open for dinner and expands the South-of-the Border offerings. The La Cantina opens daily at 11 a.m. with 150 outdoor seats.

The new La Cantina menu will initially offer chicken and beef tacos on fresh handmade corn tortillas, nachos, a cheese empanada, guacamole and chips and churros.

La Hacienda will open daily at 4 p.m. and the initial menu will feature starters like queso fundido (warm cheese with poblano pepper and chorizo); a taco trio with rib eye, roasted chicken and pork; and traditional black bean soup. Entrées include a mixed grill for two with flank steak, chicken, chorizo and vegetables (a seafood version features grouper, shrimp and scallops); roasted shrimp in pepper garlic broth; flank steak with spring onions, refried beans and cactus leaves; and grilled red snapper with roasted corn and cactus leaves. Dessert? Chocolate churros, sweet tamales and fruit empanadas.

The current schedule I have seen for the opening is Sept. 24th. Just in time for the Food & Wine Festival.

Disney is trying to have it open by Food & Wine Festival which starts October 1, 2010. Haven't heard a confirmed date yet since construction delays, hurricanes, etc could alter the schedule.

Thanks for posting the link. The new restaurants both look like nice additions. As others have said, I don't think there is an official opening date yet, but Disney appears to be shooting to have everything ready by Oct. 1.

The San Angel Inn had served the Ribeye Tacos in the past and they were wonderful! I'm glad to see that might be one of the offerings in this new place. Exciting! I love it when new places open, when the kingdom expands. Restaurants are never neutral spaces...those are the spaces in which the future will take place...where people will become engaged, birthdays celebrated, feel the embrace of a new love while watching Illuminations from the outdoor seating, celebrate anniversaries, friendships, 5 years of being cancer-free, what will turn out to be the last special dinner with grandma, dinner on the night when little Rachel was conceived...so many important things...in that new space.
