We got our e-mail from the Timeshare Store this morning that Disney waived on the package and it's officially ours! We are ready to close as soon as we sign (and pay). That was a lot faster than I thought. Our offer was just accepted by the seller on 5/19.

Best part - we intend to travel in May 2011, which means we will bank the 2010 points. So we will have 620 points to play with next year. Yippie!!

The cost per point is a one time cost to buy the real estate interest. The ongoing annual maintenance fee for OKW is $4.87 per point.

The Disney Timeshare program is not based on weeks, but on points. The amount of vacation time we can reserve will depend on the size of the accommodation, the resort, and the time of the year we want to go. Roughly, we wanted enough points to vacation yearly in a 2 bedroom during most times of the year.

There is a lot of info on this site that can further explain Disney's program.

It varies depending on where you stay and what time of year. 310 per year is good for a stay in pretty much any 2-bedroom for one week (sleeps 9) all the way up to 4+ weeks for a Studio (sleeps 4) at certain times a year at some of the resorts.

In other words, 310 points per year will be giving these points a whole heck of a lot of Disney! :mickey:
