May 30, 1908 – Mel Blanc, “The Man of a 1000 Voices,” and supplied the voice for Gideon in Disney’s “Pinocchio,” was born in San Francisco, Ca.
May 30, 1909 – Benny Goodman, often referred to as the “King of Swing,” was born in Chicago, Il. His music is featured in Disney’s 1946 “Make Mine Music.”
May 30, 1927 – Walt Disney’s 51st Alice Comedy film “Alice’s Channel Swim” premiered at Paramount Theater in N.Y.C.
May 30, 1927 – Disney’s “Alice Comedy “Alice’s Picnic” was released.
May 30, 1932 – Disney Legend Dick Nunis was born in Cedartown, Ga. From 1967-1974 he would serve as chairman of the Park Operations Committee, and in 1968, be bumped up to Vice President of Operations. By 1971 Nunis would be named Executive Vice President of WDW and Disneyland.
May 30, 1936 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoon “Thru The Mirror” was released.
May 30, 1941 – Disney’s Pluto cartoon “Canine Caddy” was released.
May 30, 1947 – Disney’s Figaro cartoon “Figaro and Frankie” was released.
May 30, 1953 – Disney’s animated Donald Duck short “Don’s Fountain of Youth” was released.
May 30, 1956 – The Disneyland TV series featured “Behind the Scenes with Fess Parker.” (Parker was the star of Disney’s Davy Crockett and later portrayed Daniel Boone).
