Gift Card and DDP

When I booked my reservation for August I got a $500 gift card. Does anyone know if I can put it towards the purchase of the DDP plan or do I have to use it in the parks?

No, you can't. DDP has to be purchased (and paid for) something like 10 days prior to check-in. You don't get the gift card until after you have checked in.

But, if you don't do the Dining Plan, then you can use the gift card as a method of payment for you meals. Depending on your situation, this may well be less expensive for you.
