We're considering one of the 4-night cruises next August, but are wondering when it would be best to book by... being over a year out, I know the rates are better... any idea when they typically go up?

any idea when they typically go up?Unfortunately, there's no way to predict when prices are going up. When a category starts selling out, that triggers the prices in that category to start rising. If you're planning on travelling during the holidays or a school vacation week, then chances are the categories will book quickly and the costs will rise faster. Travelling during a slower time of year, means you generally wouldn't have to book so far in advance.

We booked our cruise this last Feb. with M.J. almost a year out. Some of the people with us did inside cabins and when pricing went down they got the new pricing. Two fo the people waited to long to book and could not get a room so we were glad we booked so far in advance.

We booked in March 09 for this coming Memorial Weekend. We paid $3,900 now the price is $5,055. So there is a big difference, book early!
