Has anyone done the Haunted Carriage Rides at Fort WIlderness and what is your opion? This will be our fourth vacation during the Halloween season and I just recently learned of it. DS's are 11 & 7, so there really is not a fear/scare factor.
Thank you!

I've not done it but others have reported enjoying it.

We did this in October of 2008 and it was a blast! They play a tape of the Ichabod Crane and Sleepy Hollow story and there's a surprise at the end of the ride that I won't give away. The night we did it there was a full moon and that really added to the spooky atmosphere. We wouldn't hesitate to do this again sometime in the future.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I love planning and how to make each vacation a bit different. Just waiting for Disney to release the dates. I think this is something that we will definately do.

That sounds fantastic! I wish we had known about it when we were there during October. Any chance they do some kind of Christmas ride?

Do Not pass it up. This was worth every penny. My DD and I did this just this past October. It has been one of the best "extra" adventures we have done during our many Disney stays.
I hope you will book this for your upcoming trip. You will not be disappointed.
Happy Vacation :mickey:

This wil be our third time during October and we have not done this either. Is it appropriate for a 2 and 5 year old or should we wait until they are older?

They had been doing "sleigh rides" from Wilderness Lodge, I believe.

The wagon ride doesn't take reservations, correct? How early did you have to show up?

We had reservations and we showed up about 15 minutes beforehand. I don't know if they take walkups. I know they didn't for the regular carriage ride that we took at Port Orleans.

Emmatink, I think I'd wait until your kids are a little older. I think it might be a little spooky for them right now, because it's a ride that goes through the woods and there's a surprise at the end that might scare them.

badkitty,

I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were talking about the wagon ride. We've never done that, so I'm not sure whether or not you need reservations. We did need them for the regular carriage ride at Port Orleans and the Halloween carriage ride at Fort Wilderness.

I think I'm confused. Is the haunted ride a carriage for one family or the wagon for lots of people?

When we did the haunted carriage ride, it was just the two of us.
