Today began with breakfast in the lounge. Another bright sunny day that begins with watching them comb the beach while enjoying our breakfast. Today we watched a photopass shoot too. Strange though, it was a 30 something couple and the woman was wearing 4 inch heels on the beach. A sight to behold. She could barely walk. It sure kept our attention. What was she thinking??
Off to DHS. I love this park. Love the happy old time Hollywood feeling. We arrived about 9:30 a.m. We didn't even care about TSM fastpasses, but then we decided we'll check the return time. Katie booked it, and we had a return time of 11:20a.m. Wow! So we will ride it after all. Since we rode it numerous times in the past, we didn't feel the pressure to ride it this time. Off to Little Mermaid. This mermaid was gorgeous. And a voice to match. What a wonderful way to kick off our morning. Next was the Great Movie Ride, Kai's favorite, and we walked right on. Then to the Backlot tour. They didn't do the movie sequence in the beginning with the water effects. Technical probs. I was happy. I always think that part is boring. The girls liked some of the Hannah Montana movie additions to this tour. We then caught some HSM show. We all sang and danced, then onto Idol. Slim pickings today I guess, this was the first time we had seen the show where not one of them knocked our socks off. But still alot of fun. And we didn't have that Ryan guy, we had a girl host. So that was new.
Off to the Writers Stop. Love that store. We got some cookies to share (they are sooooo good here, especially the peanut butter) and I made some purchases. Kai is his Mother's son for sure. Found him in a chair all the way back like a little old man when it was time to leave. He gravitates towards books just like I do.

Then we had playtime. We walked the streets of America, and took some pics with characters. Khloe announced the yellow power ranger was her favorite..(what?? since when do you even know Power rangers???) so we started there.

Right after the photo the power ranger had some sort of wardrobe malfunction and was removed from picture taking. Katie's new goal is to be the yellow power ranger. Shoot for the stars Katie. She's so silly.
Onto the green men. Love these guys. I just love them. I think its the coolest costume ever in the parks.

Steve looks so healthy here, its hard to believe just 4 short months ago he was on a feeding line. So grateful for his health!!
We walked some more and Katie got into the Star Tours action. She stood in line with all the little boys to have her turn at this action shot. And she doesn't even get embarrassed.!

People were looking at her like she was crazy.
We headed for an early lunch at Sci-fi. This place gets a bad rap sometimes, but we love it. Really love it. We love the whole vibe, the kitchy movies, the burgers, the shakes. So much fun here. One of us had to sit alone in the third seat, and Kai volunteered. There was lots of up and down, and we turned around alot to talk to him, so it was ok. Katie and I split a choco milkshake, Steve and I burgers, Khloe the tofu, KT a salad, and Kai the chili. A BD sundae ended the meal for KT. We always feel so good here!

We headed to TSM to use our fastpasses after lunch. I still enjoy Buzz much more then TSM. Pulling that string always seems awkward to me, and the only one I am good at is the ring toss part.

Steve really gets into any of the target games. He gets wickedly competitive.:thedolls:
We tried to end the day with the 2p.m. showing of Indiana Jones. It filled up about 20 people before we got to the front of the line. Thats ok. I was ready to head back, and we've seen it before. I said goodbye to my hero..

And we headed back to the Polynesian by bus.
Today we spent the afternoon poolside. And had dole whips to boot.
We decided on a light dinner in the lounge since we had already had a big meal out. Kona sticky wings and potstickers on the menu.
Then we headed to DTD. OK!!! Found all the crowds everyone told me about!!!!! It was incredibly crowded, and I did not enjoy this. It was wall to wall people, walk single file, type of crowds. Ugh. It didn't deter Khloe who immediately jumped into the candy shoppe for an Oreo covered marshmallow.

Thats real good for her braces!!!!
The girls shopped in Tren-D. Then onto the kitchen store which I love, and World of Disney. We got samples in Ghiradelli, but it was waaaay to packed to get ice-cream. We watched some of Disney's musical days with a group that was similar to Glee. We played legos, Kai and Steve got tattoos,

And Kai got new cool, tie dyed mouse ears with his name.
I was ready to call it quits. Way too crowded. So we bussed it back, missed Wishes tonight. We are exhausted!!

Kai is his Mother's son for sure. Found him in a chair all the way back like a little old man when it was time to leave. He gravitates towards books just like I do.

The book he is reading, Scary Stories, is one of my son's favorites. Every night he asks for it, but sometimes I try to mix it up!

Day 4 - and another wonderful time. I too love DHS . . . maybe it's just nostalgia, but I really enjoy this park. My family really enjoys Sci-Fi for lunch also! I know I've written this in previous reports, but I think it's wonderful how your family hangs together so well.

I agree wholeheartedly - when Downtown Disney gets crowded like that, it's just no fun. We've changed up our schedule so that we go in the morning when it opens. Makes spending money oh so much more enjoyable when you can move. :D

Glad another day was filled with joy! :mickey:

Sounds like another great day!

Don't forget power rangers are on round 2. They were a staple in my house when DS18 was little. Books, videos, mini replicas, etc.

Another wonderful day, Lisa. One tip for you for DTD, get there when it opens. You'll have the place practically to yourself. Love the picture of Kai reading, so cute. I have to say Steve looks super healthy. I can't believe how great he looks after last fall. What a recovery!!!! Dole Whips at the pool for an afternoon break, what could be better?!?! Your trip sounds so relaxing and magical, and you guys surely deserve it!
