hi,
the family and i are heading back tro disney in aug. i like to visit in the offseason but my wife is a teacher and the kids are old enough that missing school will matter. what we traditionally do is head down in the end of aug. usually the first week of the "off" season to avoid crowds. manys times the park is still open late(summer hours) for a day or 2 after we arrive.
i see some great deals offered the week befor we plan to go. 30% off deluxe room rates! all deals and discounts (free meal plan) are offered up until the offseason.traditionally are deals like this offered during the first few weeks of the off season? if not it will be a great deal cheaper to travel the week befor we planned. im thinking i'll wait and see what deals will be offered for the end of august but was wondering when these deals are usually announced. any help, input or ideas are appreciated. thanks

Usually the deals for the end of August are announced around April 1. That's been the case for the last 4-5 years with the "free" dining at any rate. So, they're already "late" on that announcement. Iger is on record as saying WDW will be reducing discounts for the second half of the year, so there may not be anything for that time period this year. Or it might be announced later. The simple answer is no one knows.

I read on another site that someone had "good" info that the free meal plan will be out at the end of the month or early May. We'll just have to wait and see...if so I'll be packing my bags!:mickey:
