Hi! our family will be staying at this resort for the 1st time on nov. 2010. we need advice on what not to miss on the resort, in terms of foods to eat, amenities, thinks you enjoy doing, etc. We are in the middle of planning every detail of our vacation. Thanks!!

We stayed in Magnolia Bend side as opposed to Alligator Bayou. Mag. Bend is the "mansions" theme. AB is rustic themed and has the trundle beds so if you are a fmily of 5 you will be there. It looked nice too. We ate at the POR Riverside food court a few times which we found to be good, large and lots of options from different stations . It got crowded at breakfast but was dead around lunch. The main pool at Ol Man Island is nice and was a short walk from Magnoila Bend. It's a pretty resort and felt deluxe to us (this was our first time in a moderate)! One day we did take the bus over to POR- French Quarter to look around and eat lunch. They had a much smaller food court but good choices too. My kids got some MArdi Gras beads from the CM there. So it's worth exploring if you have some free time, too.

....just to name a few.... there are bike rentals, boat rentals, walking trails, 6 pools, a playground, carriage rides, great food in the food court and Boatwrights, boats to DtD.....it's just a very quiet relaxing resort....our little home away from home...:thumbsup:

:ditto: Great resort. Very welcoming and beautiful. Boat to DtD is a must. Food Court is awesome! Don't forget to make some time for Piano Bob if you can. We LOVE going home to POR!:cloud9:

Sounds great! it's our first moderate and taking the advice from many here we took the Riverside, we like the relaxing sound of it all. Kids will love the boat ride.
