We are locals, living about an hour from WDW. We have not stayed over at the resorts during Thanksgiving, but we are considering doing just that for 2010. Has anyone done it before and if so, what resorts are best for that time of year? What are some good options for Thanksgiving dinner? Thanks, guys....

We only spent one Thanksgiving weekend in Disney. Crowd levels are very high that weekend. I'd suggest concentrating on resort offerings rather than on spending times in them parks. Don't have any recommendations for dinner for that day though I do understand that most table service restaurants do offer Thanksgiving fare in honor of the day.

We had dinner at Boma's on Thanksgiving in 2005. It was very good. The parks were busy; but manageable. And the Christmas decorations are up too.

We were there last year for Thanksgiving. It was crowded, but definitely manageable. We spent four days in the parks and covered everything we wanted. We typically took it easy in the am (we are not morning people), but stayed until the parks closed. On Thanksgiving night, before the fireworks, we walked on Splash (although it was chilly!), Pirates, HM, and Barnstormer (3x). Great fun!

We stayed off property that trip, but would recommend any resort--I don't recall special Thanksgiving decorations, at that point most of the Christmas stuff is up.

We had planned to meet a friend's family at Shades of Green for dinner, but didn't make it (it was a lot farther than we thought!). We ended up at the Poly, unable to get into O'Hana's or Kona Cafe. We were standing outside the sushi bar pondering our next move when the sushi folks invited us in! We sat against the window--great views of the landscape at the Poly. They offered the Kona menu (with special Thanksgiving meal) along with the sushi menu. It was awesome! We started a new Turkey-Day tradition--sushi and lapu lapus!

We usually visit during Thanksgiving and even though the parks are crowded, we still manage to have a great time! Last year, we had Thanksgiving dinner at O'hana's and the menu was changed to a traditional dinner. As far as the resorts you cannot go wrong with any of them in fact we spent one day just resort hopping looking at all of the Christmas decorations

We stayed at All-Star Movies and stayed out of the Disney parks until Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Shutters. It was okay, but we had to wait since they ran out of turkey.
