So I last left off with my sis and me wandering around Downtown Disney around 5 p.m., wondering what to do next. We had a reservation for dinner at Hollywood and Vine for 6:35 that night as the plan was to hang out in Hollywood Studios for Extra Magic Hours. We were still full from our Princess Breakfast and didn't think we could justify paying another $27 for a buffet if we weren't going to eat our money's worth. We thought grabbing something small at counter service instead would be better, so I went to guest relations and had them cancel our reservation. I briefly thought we should go to Sci Fi just so my sister could see it, but we had limited time in HS to begin with and didn't want to use up an hour in the restaurant.

To get to HS from Downtown, we decided to take the Swan, Dolphin, Beach/Yacht Club and Boardwalk bus to either walk or take the boat. My sis decided she wanted to see what the Yacht/Beach Clubs look like so we got off at Yacht and walked along the pier, saw Stormalong Bay and looked across the waterway to the Boardwalk area. EPCOT is my favorite park and one day I would love to stay in any of these resorts during Food and Wine Fest! We took the boat and got to HS just in time for Indiana Jones stunt show. Even though we got there fairly close to start time, the cast members were asking the crowd to squish in toward the middle and we snagged two seats in a great spot. I noticed a couple glitches in the show this time around (I think just because I have seen it so many times) but it is always a good time! My sister really liked it as well because it's another fun Full House moment when the cast goes to see the show and DJ thinks Steve is the Indiana stunt man.

When the show let out we were right by Backlot Express so my sister got in line and I went over to Pizza Planet. Unfortunately PP had just closed and I went to ABC Commissary instead and brought my salad back over to Backlot. We were really feeling the fast pace of our trip catching up to us, but decided to plod on because we still had two major attractions to see. We went to Muppets 3D next so our food could digest while watching it. it was hilarious as usual although we missed the pre-show and all the great one-liners. We walked through the Muppets store and then took the long way around Streets of America to Pixar Place. I had already assumed Toy Story wouldn't be an option for us and the wait was just way too long by this point. My sister's priorities were Tower of Terror and Rockn' Rollercoaster so that's where we went.

The wait times weren't awful for either ride so we did Tower first and waited about 35 minutes. We went through the library and in an elevator after 10 minutes.... and then we got stuck. Just before the doors open and the drop sequence is supposed to begin. We stayed in the dark for about 2 minutes (although it always seems longer doesn't it) and then the lights came on. It was about 20 minutes before a CM came on the intercom that we would evacuate, but then a minute later a different announcement said the ride would continue with a full drop sequence. The car began to move and we did the drop with the lights on, so there were no effects. We did get to ride again right away and a CM took us in the VIP elevator back to the boiler room. That was cool too! The nextdrop sequence was better than the first, AND the lights were off! It was definitely a Tower of Terror experience to remember.

I had already hit the proverbial wall but took one for the team and waited about 45 minutes for Rockn' Rollercoaster. I personally think that's the worst queue ever. It's boring outside, and I hate the sound of everyone running hands over the marble doors. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me. The ride is a little too short but still worth the wait over all. I told my sister she was more than welcome to stay in the park but I needed to go back to the hotel. She decided she had also had enough, so after a quick stop for mint chocolate chip ice cream we went to the bus stop and luckily scored a bus right away. I wish we had more time for this park because there was quite a bit we didn't see but time wasn't on our side. Oh well, I usually like to leave something to do next trip anyhow.

Next part is our last full day and meeting up with an old friend from home!:mickey:

It's hard to cram all the favorites and must-dos into a short trip! You've certainly gone all out and I don't wonder that you're tired!

We got stuck once on Tower of Terror as well. However, when we got stuck it was at the end of the ride. Even so, we were escorted back around and allowed another go at it!

I would have been TERRIFIED if the TOT broke down right before the drop sequence. You are a brave soul!!! :)

Sorry to hear your time was so short at DHS, but at least you got to dome of the major rides. Thanks for sharing.

At the end of the day you sounded wiped out. That last 45 minute wait for RnRC probably seemed like a lot more! It was a great day for both of you, though. Thanks for sharing your afternoon & evening with us :mickey: - I'm bummed that your trip is already winding down!

Doing ToT with the lights on must have been interesting. And I agree that RnRC has a boring queue. Sounds like you made the most of your time at HS.
