Mar. 22, 1909 – Disney animator Milt Kahl, one of Walt’s “Nine Old Men”, and known for his work on “Bambi”; “Alice in Wonderland”; and “The Rescuers”, was born in San Francisco, Ca.
Mar. 22, 1912 – Actor Wilfred Brambell, who portrayed Willie Bannock in Disney’s 1964 “The Three Lives of Thomasina” and Bill Gaye in Disney’s 1962 “In Search of the Castaways,” was born in Dublin, Ireland.
Mar. 22, 1935 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “The Golden Touch”, directed by Walt, was released.
Mar. 22, 1964 – The Disney TV show aired “In Shape with Von Drake.”
Mar. 22, 1966 – The “Disneyland Pacific Hotel” along with the “Yamabuki” and “Disney’s PCH Grill” Restaurants opened at Disneyland.
Mar. 22, 1970 – The Wonderful World of Disney presented “Disneyland Showtime”, starring The Osmond Brothers, Kurt Russell, kids of the Kingdom, The Sound Castle, and the Dapper Dans.
Mar. 22, 1972 – Disney’s remake of the 1940 Paramount film “The Biscuit Eater” was released.
Mar. 22, 1975 – The Lake Buena Vista Village, an area of shops on the shore of Lake Buena Vista at WDW officially opened. It would be renamed Walt Disney World Village, and again renamed to the more familiar Disney Village Marketplace.
Mar. 22, 1985 – Disney animation director Wolfgang “Woolie” Reitherman died in an auto accident while driving home from lunch.
Mar. 22, 1985 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Baby…Secret of the Lost Legend” was released.
