unread message count

I have intercot set to remember my login. Lately when I have logged in, the blinking yellow icon and new posts icons have been vacant from new posts, or when new replies have been made.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there a glitch somewhere. I do have my login remembered on my work laptop as well as my home desktop.

Any help is appreciated
